  1. if anybody picks up these 2 to sell, I am in need of 1 or 2 of them.....
  2. I've had the Winch bumper sitting around for a while, and never got it installed on anything until tonight... I have the winch too, but it's not installed yet... and I don't have the big skid plate for the bottom, but I do have the 2 bar loop piece that mounts to the bottom of the crossmember. and in 1980-81 if you got this optional bumper on your GL 4WD, there were 2 special pieces needed to change the location of the centerlamp motor, because the back edge of the bumper sits right where the motor would. I got the whole centerlamp assembly, and the 2 special pieces along with the brushguard, but the wire connections on the motor for it were totally corroded away leaving a big hole into the motor, so I had to retrofit the 2 pieces onto the '82 centerlamp that was already installed on my hatch when I got it... after a few minutes of testing, the door was working the opposite of what it was supposed to. had to take the cover off the motor gearbox, and turn the shaft 180 degrees, since the motor is now facing the opposite direction of "normal". all is well now
  3. the new ones I put in were 4" Pioneers, that replaced dead 4" Polk Audios they were both the same mount depth, and it looked like I had room left over... these are the ones... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7676268&type=product&id=1134702499270
  4. never really thought about doing it this way before... the stock ones on my 86 Brat are muffled because they are blasting into the seat/covers... (I'm in the process of switching to a gray interior )
  5. okay, here's the pics of my seats.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=865
  6. thanks! I need to get 2 new plastic eyes for the top, and I'm missing the short strings on both of the covers I have... my hinge clips are also broken. Shawn and I saw a fix for this at one of the yards in Denver. The person had taken a small hose clamp, and bent it like an inch worm, and screwed the ends into the plastic. I'm gonna get some loops at the hardware store should work really slick....
  7. and today I put a '90 legacy drivers seat into my red brat.... much better now with no metal pieces sticking into my back
  8. anybody have a pic of the clip on the rear hatch, and how the string hooks into it?
  9. the seats are identical to these.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=455896&postcount=13 I'll see if I can get some pics of my multi-colored interior I didn't really want to drill through the floor, but the comfort difference is worth it. the seats are higher. I probably have about 1.5" between me and the headliner.
  10. I just put '00 RS seats in my hatch. the inside front mount needed to be bent down to match the '84 mount angle, and the outside mount had to be cut and bent, and it lined up with the stock mount hole. the rear mounts I just drilled through the floor & tunnel and used seatbelt anchor washers. they are 5000 time better I had to remove a bit of the seat trim on the drivers side to allow for the rear hatch opener....
  11. the RX seats won't bolt in, but you can make brackets for them, as displayed here... Early Legacy Seats have an even simple bracket, but the seats are wider, and you may have to cut the door sill trim.... I got a hold of some newer 2.5RS seats, and apparently, you can just need to drill new holes in the bottom of the RS seats, and bolt in the EA81 brackets....
  12. Actually, it depends on what Gen and what kind of decal you want. For Gen1 multi-color reproductions that look like this... there's a guy in TX who I think can still do them. "Subaru3" on the board can probably get you his info.... For single color Gen1/Gen2 repros like these, Ed Dahl is your man. He can be contacted at dahled@aol.com For "Brat" wording only, I can help you out. All of my stuff can be found here.... Bratguy Decals
  13. I took both hoses to a place that can make custom hoses, and they re-used the ends I needed with a new hose...

    Dual Batteries?

it's the very bottom one on this page... http://www.jameng.com/products/index.phtml?section=14 it allows me to run a small round 6" chrome round air filter holder. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/gallery/holley5.jpg (back when I had the Holley on) the bent section that goes back is a modified supercharger pipe off a thunderbird.

    Dual Batteries?

I used a large solenoid from an RV parts place to tie the pos+ posts together, and the switch is tied to the ignition, so that the alt (XT6) charges them both while running, but they are isolated when the IGN is off... I removed the jack holder, and pounded the area a little flatter, then bolted in a plastic battery tray to hold it. more pics http://usmb.net/gallery/album238
  16. those wheels on the RX are 14" alloys..... 3 type available. Chrome, gray/silver, and white....
  17. might have 3 soobs this year.... will the record be broken??????
  18. something like this would be more appropriate for the size of the engine http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=11371&cat=865
  19. I say buck the trends, and go with a nice EA81
  20. I thought with Jerry's kit you re-use the EA81 shifter parts? or is that just the 4WD stuff? I thought all ea82 drive-shafts were 2 piece? I took a regular ea81 shaft into a driveline shop and had it lengthened....
  21. i've got RX springs on my red brat Brian. it did lift it about an inch (before I put my huge bumper on...) I also have the struts adjusted all the way up. I started with the 4"/3" but same principles can be used... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/mick/5inchlift.html
  22. it's not really too short (clutch cable) but it does appear that way... I thought the same when I did mine... you have to use the ea81 cable, as the ea82 cable has a completely different pedal side set-up... I think you only need the washers for the starter if you are using the EA81 flywheel....??? no idea on the linkage, as I just used all ea82 stuff....
  23. I had them on my first hatch. I sold them to another member here a couple years ago, but I'm looking for another set... they really save the top of the rear seat... I'm working with a guy on a possible conversion from another car, but I'vebeen told the length difference between the top and bottom edges islarger than "normal"
