  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=119224 one of these!
  2. Very easy. Remove over flow clean it, reinstall it and fill to full line. Remove cap. Start car. SLOWLY add coolant Stop when full, wait for the t-sta to opne. (you will see a surge out the filler neck) Resume slowly filling system. Replace cap. Drive car around block. Allow car to cool off. Check coolant level Repeat (once if needed) and that should do it. This is the proper method for all cars.
  3. Bad battery cable is another possability
  4. Except he said he is hearing a solenoid click when he turns the key. At least thats what i thought he said
  5. Exactly how are these passing testing, what are those tests.
  6. Have you tried hitting the starter? What is the voltage reading at the solenoid wire (disconnected of course). I am wondering if you have a tired iggy switch assuming the starters are not stuck somehow.
  7. Try Neutral (amuse me). To me this sounds like a bad starter....or... You did the jump test, now try clamping a jumper to the engine block and the other side to the negative terminal
  8. Does the starter motor spin and the engine not turn over or does it just sit there and look at you funny?
  9. Suggestion, the car is old enough anyway, think about replacing the MC. Also i gravity bled both my justy and outback. I didnt need anything really aside from a hose. I just opened up the bleeder and let our evil overlord Physics take over. Went faster then I thought it would, and on both cars i Replaced calipers.
  10. What is high miles? This is an importnat thing to know. Timing chains usually fail when you shut the car off. The sudden unloading of a tired chain can cause it to jump, but lets not go there yet.
  11. http://techinfo.subaru.com/proxy/40342/pdf/040342-H001SFG000190268.pdf This should give you a pretty good idea. Not sure what year this is for but ...
  12. Woo slow down before you make a very expensive mistake. i do not know what you are installing this in, but subaru uses a lighting controller, which breaks the lighting into zones. The lighting does not go to ground, but goes back to the controller. Modern cars generally use this same kind of system. You wirit wrong you kill your dash lights and have to replace a black box (which is 100.00 new in a sooby).
  13. That is your problem, the vent valve. Not sure if it is on the tank or under the hood. Also possible you have a clogged vent line.
  14. sweet little car, i love these cars
  15. Aerodynamics is the reasons for curves everywhere, i do miss some boxyness. The day the Wrangler goes curvey is the day we are all doomed to driving jelly beans.
  16. One word, well one word with four parts... TIRES i do not know what you have planned, but make sure your tires are up to the job. Get the proper speed rated tires. Always go one speed rating higher for high speed driving.
  17. That is more limited by the ECU then the TCU. In reality it is also the physics of the driveshaft, speed rating of the wheels, and aerodynamics vs power of the engine.
