  1. Well first i need to get it back on jack stands to drop the rack slightly to set it straight. i have set the toe by eye, but that was when i still had one wheel properly set (and have been dead on). Now with both out i have no reference.
  2. That is EXACTLY my problem! AMEN someone who has been there and done that
  3. Yeah i thought i had it all measured and was so happy when it finally went on. All the fighting with the double joint i moved the steering wheel grrrr even though i had it tied down.
  4. Nice thing about toe, can try it at home, screw it up or can't do it, drive it to the alignment shop. Now who wants to come over and help m out with the steering joint
  5. Doesn't it have premium recomended, There is only one way to find out, put a few tanks of premium in and see what happens.
  6. I already decided to take the Justy camping this weekend, and leave Blu at home. I was really really hoping someone would take pity on me about the sterring wheel. i need to find an extra pair of hands some place. With a double universal it is hard to judge. On the plus side i did not know that double joint was seized and i solved that issue. So jack stands come back out on monday. Geometry ewwwwww still need the spec i know it is here someplace
  7. I just put in a used steering rack, so it is out. Aslo (mumblemumblemumble) i was off a tooth or two on the steering shaft so the wheel is off more then 90 degrees. sob. Really hoping i dont have to redo that as it is a pita with a lift kit.
  8. Do you have any flashing lights on startup? Have you tried synthetic ATF? Subarus tend to be hard shifters with the 1-2. Mine comes and goes. Sometimes running an extra ground helps. There really arent any real complaints on this transmission aside fomr hard shifts when cold.
  9. Since Toe is a three letter word, it is almost unsearchable. i saw someplace how to set your toe-in with a tap measure and the spec, but i can not find it. Anyone know the process or the thread? Thanks
  10. It will not fit without modification. The SVX 6 is a large long engine. Everything will bolt up, but you would have to relocate the radiator and supports i think. it is also a lot heavier. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148934
  11. Actually that was on topic, but i love how it was before they invented the driveshaft tunnel.
  12. Not really, that one wheel example only applies if you get stuck or loose traction.. On dry ground you have 2wd and 4wd respectivly. A differential is a mechanical computer. It divieds the power between two spinning wheels http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm Simplistically.. if the car goes straight, 4 turns of the drive shaft (1:1 final drive for math sake) will result in 4 turns of the wheels. Making a hard turn the outside wheel turns faster, the inner wheel turns slower, so one wheel will turn six times, one wheel 2 times, with the same 4 turn input. If traction is lost, then one wheel will turn no times, the spinng wheel will turn 8 times the drivshaft 4 times. This is why you never (on a 2wd open diff) never take a wheel faster then 30 mph because on that one wheel it would be 60. If both wheels are off the ground they may even spin in differnt directions.
  13. They use colored reflections which makes for no loss of light, where colored bulbs do loos some light power (lums)
  14. You answered your own question sort of. The bushings in your shifter linkage are shot, an easy fix.
  15. The color is not on the blubls, but the back paint behind the gauges. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=690378 I know it is a newer gauge set, but this is how it is done.
  16. You have an intermittent fault. Next time the CEL happens do whatever you have to to read the code.
  17. IN an emergency. you can get away with 2 tires, both on the same side of the car. This is ONLY if you do not have a VC in the rear diff. This is why i carry a full sized spare. I have it in my tire rotation. VC give no warning anything is wrong untill it is to late. An automatic will give you hints and clues before doom.
  18. Newer ones actually have the back of the gauges (on some) painted green to give that green glow.
  19. Since you think you know the noise, does it go away when you remove plug wires one at a time. It may be the beginings of knock or your paranoia. Don't worry, We shall all watch you do it, all 37,000 plus members.. MUHAHAHA
  20. That is true. Some people weld the gears together for dirt tracks or trails. Those cars are not pavementg freindly.
  21. http://www.autozine.org/technical_school/traction/tech_traction_4wd_2.htm AWD systems and here is clutch type LSD http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential4.htm
