PROPER methind for filling a car with coolant (has noting to do with ramps) Car on level ground 1-Start car, turn on temp to hot. 2-SLOWLY fill car up with coolant 3-when filled, wait for thermostat to open (surge out the radiator neck) Monitor temp gauge 4-Once level settles top off radiator 5-Fill overflow to hot line 6-Install radiator cap 7-Drive car around block. Allow to cool 8=Check coolant level. Repeat above if needed. You should only have to repeat it once. Use this method for all cars and you will be bubble free,

Do you know of any subarus that used hollys that would work? I just tripped over someplace with NOS subaru (holly) carbs for 175 ish. I will share that after i get my answer (muhahaha)

Interesting. The CVT is just a pull cable that runs down under the throttle plate as opposed to the throttle that runs up and over. I have removed the 2nd cat and replaced it with a modern 3wya cat, so I think I have lots and lots leway to play with carbs and still pass NY inspection. NY only looks for a cat and evap system on this year. It is just a tailpipe and my mechanic has been known to *ahem* Use a modern car for comparision, and sometimes mix up the results on which is which The car has 30K on it so it really shouldnt be an issue on getting it to pass inspection. Just really pissed that I had one rebuilt and they left parts out.

Is it sweet in smell? As long as you have no cross contamination and it is a small leak, I don't see why not for now. You can try subaru coolant conditioner which is a stopleak.

I have seen it in person. It is the same size as Blu (97 outback) a little more lift. Has more leg room with the loss of some wagon area. This is fine with me as when I travle it is only me and the other half so the rear seat folded is fine. It is different then the imp in ways you wouldnt see to make the extra height. I would buy it in a heart beat if anything happened to Blu, even with the smaller engine.

What did you forget to plug in? It sounds like your transmission is in limp mode. You also will have no AWD. Did the cluster work before the swap? Check all your harnesses that you futzed with, unplug them and reattach them. Sounds like somethig isnt plugged back in properly or a blown fuse, or both.

Is that an actual hole? Safe to drive - well - are you using an oil? Any oil in the coolant? Loosing any oil or coolant? Does thatr have some liquid around it, if so, what does it smell like?

Gen1 Camber. A new idea?......
nipper replied to Dirk's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Depending upon the year, yes. I can confirm this, as I have a 2" lift on Blu. I just needed to get camber bolts to give a little cushion room on the front end. Others have done this lift without them. -
Aww thats cheating Then if it is a build, give yourself places to use a high lift jack on as they come in really handy wheeling.

Spacers wont lower the engine and suspension, it will just raise the body higher. This is how outbacks that were based on Legacies are lifted. -
Watch for sales at Sears. I have bought from them over the years where they do come SAE and metric in the same kit.

help

Even before that make sure the linkage is adjusted properly and the bushings are good. If it did not do it before you replaced the clutch, it shouldn't now. -
Sounds almost like a parts car would be best Depends actually what kind of wheeling you are going to do, and what kind of vehicle. Sometimes you need two spares, sometimes just one. Same with the jack (talking about another jack besides the one that comes with the car) I am all ears on where to attach a winch to a subaru that doesnt involve major surgery. Space blanket and a poncho, jumper cables (or battery pack) If oyu have a smart phone spare batteries for it (for the GPS). And a Buddy to offraos with, as you really shouldnt go alone if doing something really challangeing, as a winch can't always get you out.
