  1. They are 5 and 3/4", the plugs on these lights only have 2 male prongs so I believe they are either on or off. Trust me they are BRIGHT! I would trade for some of the NOS aircon parts. Please text me, or reply to my PM and lets make a deal!
  2. Just installed the wiring harness from my last post and it works! I checked my fuses for residual heat and they are not even warm! I can't wait to angle the high beams down and drive around town with all 4 lights on. Also, this Saturday is JCCS 2014. I'm signed up and will be taking the car this year. I've been to many concour'd elegance with some of my family's other vehicles. 1907 Baker Electric 1909 Pierce Arrow 1907 Cylinder Oldsmobile
  3. I'll be there. Showing the Brat Anyone else going to be there?
  4. PM'd you. @Demon Brat (his wiring thread can be found here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/148961-upgraded-headlight-wiring/ ) Thanks to demon brat, I ordered this to alleivate my headlight wiring issue. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331214602226 Looking forward to getting this installed so I can reliably use my high beams!
  5. Thank you so much for explaining it in detail. I get it now!
  6. Or wait, is it supposed to interface with the factory wiring? So you just plug the headlight into the new wiring, and the new wiring plugs into the old wiring, without having to mess with anything? I think I need a crude paint drawing to understand it.
  7. Oh I think isee, you are actually using the new cabling and completely bypassing the factory wires. You unplug the factory wires from the fuse block inside the car, and plug the new wires in, run them into the engine bay and connect it to the battery, and then to the head light bulbs themselves. Is that correct?
  8. So I was at my vacation house this weekend and got a tip that there were some old looking Subaru on the other side of town. I make the drive out there and on the side of this guys run down house is not 1, 2, or 3 gen 1 Subaru's. But I counted 7. He had 1 Gen 1 Brat, and 6 Gen 1 Wagons. All in various condition and to be honest, none of them looked to be complete trash. Tired? Dirty? Yes. Save-able? Appear to be! I walk up the the front door (two story house), knock on the door. No answer. I knock again, a bit louder. No answer. I hear a TV on (upstairs) so I knock even louder. No answer. Each time I knocked, I stood back from the door a good 5 feet. The last thing I wanted to do was appear menacing and have the person in the house answer the door with a shotgun. Well, needless to say it was un-eventful as no one ever came to the door. I will be going back there next time i visit but does anyone have any suggestions for approaching someone like this? I would love to roam through and either pick some parts or take one of the vehicles home entirely.
  9. Please forgive my ignorance but, how are you supposed to integrate this into the factory wiring? Can you break it down for me?
  10. Hey guys, so I bought 2 of these plug n play LED head lights. They are AWESOME. Draw less amperage, will fit in the factory holes and throw some serious light. Unfortunately in order for them to fit in the factory bowl, you would have to notch the bowl and that isn't something I am willing to do. It wouldn't be much, maybe a quarter inch notch so the light housing sits inside it all the way. Regardless I spent about $125 on them so I would like to get $100 for the pair. The lenses are made from glass and the housing is made from metal. I'm very happy with their build quality and light output. Just don't want to make a notch in my oem bowls. Pictures below. 11. I think this persons definition of "rust free" is vastly different than mine.
  12. Here's one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/subaru-brat-jumpseats-/321517317303?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4adbececb7&vxp=mtr
  13. Haha, yeah I think I'm going to mount tires on the Alloy wheels and use those. I would use the Jackmans but I was surprised at how much they actually weigh! Steel vs Aluminum I guess. In a few weeks is JCCS. Should I go with the factory steelies with caps or the Accessory Aluminum wheels? Well glancing at them, I didn't see any dimensions stamped into them but they measure 14 1/4 across by 6 1/4 wide.
  14. Yeah, I just took a tape measure and measured the rim across the face, and the the width. I guess I'll just go to the tire place and have them try however many tires until we find one that doesn't fit, then go down 1 size.
  15. Video still in the works, but now I'm trying to decide which wheels to go with... 14x6 Jackman Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr 14x6 Alloy Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr Side by Side Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr
  16. Just wanted to see if anyone could answer the question quickly. I'd rather not go to the tire place and have them mount and un-mount 5 different tires to see what the biggest tire will fit would be. So with that, does anyone know what is the biggest size tire that would fit an otherwise stock 78 Brat's 14 x 6 wheels? Thanks! And just so you get to see some pictures... 14x6 Jackman Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr 14x6 Alloy Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr Side by Side Untitled by blue03wrx, on Flickr

Those aren't actual scratches. Just looks like that with the dirt.
  18. Thanks Bantum! I'll be looking more into swapping out the bad harness plug into something that is safer. Today I actually took the Brat out to an unknown dirt road right off the main road. I wanted to go exploring but I didn't have any protection, or assistance in-case something were to happen. I tried out my new video camera so I'll be posting a new video shortly.
  19. Nice! That looks like exactly what we would need. Although I'm a bit worried as its only rated for 20A. The FSM calls for some of the fuses to be 25A.
  20. Posting some info for fellow user demonpossessed. Here's how the air cleaner is setup. Here's how the throttle is setup.
