Tein custom built coilovers for the gl
scobbyru replied to scobbyru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I did more research and found that if you get 05-9 legacy coilovers you widen the top hat holes and for thebrear you use a bushing inf the coilovers to make it smaller because the gl lower shock bolt is smaller then the legacy. But bad thing is I just sold my gl :-( had get rid of it due to a turn of events -

Tein custom built coilovers for the gl
scobbyru posted a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
So I talked to tein today and we did some talking about some custom coilovers for the gl with legacy spindles with gl camber plates and factory rear trailing arms. I'm getting some measurements and sending them some stuff so they can get all the correct measurements and get me a quote to make them. I wanted to pass this along because I've seen a lot of post about coilovers so I wanted to spread the word on what I was planning on doing for my build :-D -
rear differential locker
scobbyru replied to ClassySoob's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I called ox lockers and talked to them a bit. Since they don't make one the set up cost would be close to 10-12k just to try to make the first one :-/ -
I want to lower it a bit and get it show worthy. Motor swap it and bump the power up some that's why I want to put the ej tranny in and bump up the suspension/brakes. I got plans to make adjustable rear trailing arms the front I wanted to leave all the front stock but make an adjustable top plate. Now you say I can use the ej suspension/brakes how so? what parts?

I have a 89 gl "touring" that's I converted to 4wd. Before anyone one says look for old post I did. I found one post would say one thing and another would say something different. I got my hands on a 95 legacy for 100 bucks and want to know can I use the running gear (motor, trans, suspension) on my gl? I know about the motor swap kits and about the xt cross members to run the trans but I'm in sure of the suspension. I know about xt6 suspension will swap but I've been looking all over and I don't want to buy a car just to swap the suspension and be stuck with a car. If anyone could chim in and help me solve this it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance

Ok let see if this picture works just finished all the swap what a pain in the a$$

Hello I'm from the Richmond Va area I have a 1989 subaru GL wagon. Its under the knife now being converted to 4wd and a lift. If anyone is around my area hit me up I also rock crawl with my jeep

First I'm new and I'm glad to be here I'm going to end up lifting my station wagon and right now I'm swaping everything over to 4wd. Second my station wagon is different from what I see because all other wagons I see don't have a raised roof from passengers seat back. Is this a special edition or am I reading into this to much haha
