  1. But my point is, why is there even a hole in the manifold there. This valve has no port (to within the manifold)
  2. I should add that the end of the threaded part of this valve looking thing that you can't see in this pick is solid and flat, no actual opening into the manifold. Perhaps there was something else in it's place on certain models? I can just replug the whole with this same piece and not have to even cap the two plastic hose fittings, correct?
  3. I want to clean up the intake manifold as much as possible on this webered ea81. I removed the anti- afterburner and am confused by something. I removed what was screwed into the rear of the intake right behind the A-AV, It appears to be just a metal plug with two plastic hose fittings on the outside. I do not understand why there is even a passage to the inside the manifold there. I searched the forums and I think I found a pick of the "plug" I am talking about. Here is that pic but note that one of the plastic nubs is broken off in this pic. I can post more pics of the part that will better illustrate my confusion tomorrow if needed when i have access to a camera. So is this truely just a plug? there is something here I am not getting. Also do you guys who have removed this stuff just plug the two manifold ports just to the drivers side of the opening for the carb base with vacuum caps?
  4. I would like to apologize to nipper and cawain for being a wongleflute, and i do mean that. I was in a bad mood and frustrated last night, and you guys were trying to help answer a question I had and I was also not clear on what i was asking. again I am sorry. I am not usually a jerk. just sometimes okay? also thanks to turbone who always is helpful and loyale 2.7 turbo, the Honduras freak who I have noticed consistantly puts up some of the coolest posts this board has. That's all.
  5. okay I have found through the Bentley's manual that as I suspected they are all for AC. Here are some diagrams so all you guys can further assist people in the future. Sorry for being pissy, I just came here assuming somebody could quickly identify these parts to a car that I can not test as they are part of a harness being installed in a car that does not have AC or even a battery and is not yet running. I should have specified that I actually wanted information, instead apparently some folks thought it was a guessing game. If you don't know, how bout DON'T ANSWER like the sticky at the top says?
  6. No I was saying please don't say relays because I want to know WHAT THEY ARE FOR. Does anyone actually know what they are for? That would be most helpful. So far the responses are about as useful as a dead hooker. and yes I am an f'ing blast to be around. Thank you in advance.
  7. Sorry for being grumpy, What are these? (please don't say relays please don't say relays please don't say relays)
  8. Thanks for nothing. Anyone else? I just want to know what the stuff on the bracket is for.
  9. mounted on the passenger side strut tower on a 82 GL. There is one bracket which hold 3 cube shaped things and one round thing, right next to the washer fluid tank. I am guessing they are for AC?
  10. I need to see where the harness is mounted on the drivers side of the engine bay, from where it passes through the firewall to where it goes under the radiator. Pics or a diagram would be helpful! thanks.
  11. That's pure crap. I have run very clean, never failing emissions with 2 different webers on 3 different Subaru cars, for the last 7 or so years. Webers are very tunable. OPs in New Mexico at 6000 feet, I am in Colorado at 5500 feet. Don't know the rules in NM, but they are probably similar numbers-wise to here. The OP had the right idea with trying to make the weber pass before running it through with a stock set-up. How did it go? I assume it has passed by now, and please share what you did-
  12. It will never run again, you should sell it to me for $50. Seriously tons of people here would love to get their hands on your car. Don't know the value. they are super rare. Post a picture please!
  13. Beautiful! Where is Brownsville, those pics look like high desert.
  14. Hi Poop, I have a chitload of gen one parts, mostly mechanical but some interior and body. Drop me a line if you need anything, I would love to help and I am in full on get rid of stuff mode.
  15. Hey there, i like what you are doing with this car. I have two gen 1 wagons myself, one I drive every day. I really love these cars and you will too, I can see that.
  16. Disty cap and where the cylinders are (meaning #1 right front, etc).
  17. I want the fold out electrical diagram for a 1982 GL Sedan. Thanks.
  18. Is there any rubber or plastic trim that goes on the cowling (by cowling I mean the piece of the body between the hood and the windshield). I now there are little plastic things that cover the parts of the cowling That slide into the slots in the firewall, and the plastic grates beneath, but I have found three rubber strips that would fit on the windshield side edge of the cowling. If they don't go there, I don't know what they are.
  19. It sounds like a good car, but you didn't mention the body condition. Bad paint can be fixed. Rust not so much. a 100% rust free car like you described, I would pay 2k for, but understand that that is top dollar. If rust free, I would offer $1200 and go from there. You've got to be willing to say "Dude.....it's a 27 year old subaru!"
  20. Is it easier to install the ducts to the sides in the dash before installing the dash, or do they get in the way. It looks like if you put them in first, the side defrost vents will be tough to hook up, plus it just might make the dash tough to get in place. Who's done it, and what did you do?
