  1. would still like pictures of dark grey or black ea81 interiors. I am willing to paint all interior pieces, I am DEFINATELY not installing that ugly brown dash. I have a near perfect navy interior now, it just doesn't feel right in the car, which is a pretty bright and deep red with a lot of black trim. as far as hatch only interiors grey and black will be more forgiving to match. the front carpet in coupe is the same as hatch. I am not putting rear seats in my hatch, and the front seats I can do a good seatcover. I would mostly have to paint the rear and middle side pieces. I have heard there are excellent vinyl and plactic paints for this aplication. BratRod please post your results, I have the dash and would like to paint it soon.
  2. your black sedan interior intrigues me. Could you post or send me some pics? seats, doors etc. I would love to put a black and dark grey interior in my hatch. Balck carpet, I do not recall seeing in a gen 2.
  3. now we ar talking. agreed on cubbies being somewhat useless. Everyone I have ever cleaned out had 86 cents and a popsicle stick stuck to the bottom. I think I am going to leave the rear seats out of my hatch and turn it into the dog boot anyway. 6 x 9 it is.
  4. I would also like to know about the cubbies and how big a speaker people have put in there. I see no reason they couldn't fit 6 x 9 but would like to hear from somebody who's done it. Also what about round versus oval. Just to add to the conversation, I fit pretty nice pair of polk 4 x 6 in the stock locations in the front. Anyone got pics of a good mounting job in the rear cubbies?
  5. click the link for the slideshow. The gas pedal and grey dash trim is taken. Just a couple things i have set prices on - jackmans are $100 engine is $50 and fenders are $100 each, other than that, make offers, I want this stuff out of here. I like to use USPS flat rate boxes when possible. http://s133.photobucket.com/user/suckerking/slideshow/gen%201%20parts
  6. I really don't know the year as I can't remember where I got it. It's got lights??!! I just thought it was cool because it's an analog clock. In a car. that's cool.
  7. ".how do you guys reckon this will slot into the wagon?" Like butter! you should be golden with that set up.
  8. found this in my shed today, never seen one in a car, this was in a spare console. I'll put it in my 79.
  9. Hi there, I'm in CO as well. swapping plates would be a dumb thing to do in your situation. I can't say I have smogged a car with an ej swap but I have dealt with modified emissions on at least three different old school Subies that ended up getting legally plated right here in CO. Here is good info. Down at the Broofield emmisions station, There is a seperate garage attached to the testing center. There a Man named Joe Lovonas works. He is employed by the commision that actually sets these standards for the state. NOT by Clean Air Colorado, who tests you car. But he has a set up right there at the emissions station. His # is 303-404-0265. Call him and tell him you modified and old car and you want him to look at it to advise you. He is by appointment only, but it's free. Show him what you did and he will tell you what he wants done to it if anything, then he gives you some paperwork that you keep as long as you own the car. when you go to get it smogged, you show the paperwork and the buffoons at Clean Air Colorado grunt and get confused, eventualy they figure out how to do their job and run your car. The paperwork basically tells them what they have to look for. For example, the paperwork for my 80 hatch with a weber says, test for air injection only and exempt other emission. You still have to pass the numbers, but this will get you legally plated. I have done this with 3 modified subarus and it is way less painfull that sweating it every year when you have to smog it and trying to bumble through it. The guys at the testing facilities (I've tried three or four different ones) are generally idiots, you may be able to get your car by them, but you will roll the dice each year. Get the paperwork and you can cruise through the test without worry. Also last time I enquired with Boulder County, your car would qualify for collectors plates, would require 5 year registration paid up front, but you only need to pass smog 1 time. That's it. Then you just renew your plates every 5 years. Also Larimer County did away with emmisions, If you have connections there (an address you could use), You could register it up there. for that matter or anywhere on the west slope.
  10. I want to put together a very nice interior for my 80 hatch. That's got me thinking of the colors that these interiors were offered in. I have seen: navy gray that weird dark mustard beige and that's it. I do think there are two different shades of grey, one a medium shade the other a light shade. I believe the blue interiors in the earliest gen 2 years were a bit lighter and brighter than the true navy interiors that came a little later. Any other colors That I am unaware of? Ever seen black interior in a gen 2? What about carpet? What about headliners, I have only really ever noticed them being Light gray or a super soft baby blue. The only stock color that I know of that will look good in my hatch would be the darker grey. I am already thinking I may just paint all of the paint-able pieces, as I have been told there are really good paints for that now. I have a good dash that is the weird mustard interior (dash itself is an unattractive creamy brown with those interiors) so I definitely will have to paint a minimum of that. I have a good complete navy interior that I can paint, or if anyone reads this and has a grey interior to trade, drop me a line. Or if you have pieces I might be interested in.
  11. never saw the car, the engine is from the japanese domestic market. Had a fancy cam and probably fancy heads. I think you are talking about the fat case 1600 which has a different bellhousing than the "normal" 1600 and I think bigger valves. And this dual carb set up is SOLD
  12. it does have a heater core, The unit looks rough, was told it worked. figure shipping at 16 x 16 x 20 and 20 pounds from 80540
  13. I just want this out ouf here. Bought it years ago from another boardmember, never installed it. $15 plus shipping.
  14. $125 shipped to continental US. It was off of a car that quite running for reasons other than the carbs. Many years ago. No garentees, I would warn against looking at this as plug and play. but who knows. It's for a 1600
