Depends on what you call cold. It certainly aint 30*c at the moment! We might get 10 days each year that hot! But it isn't cold enough to flake it off though (not all of it anyway). Winter is coming though, maybe i could wait till then!

ea81 and ea82s crack heads, but they are usually blind cracks that cause no harm (just between the valves), so all those people buying heads from that wrecker may be wasting their money! The ea82t does seem to have worse issues when they are overheated, but you shouldn't be overheating it anyway!

When your talking about a petrol (gasoline as you say) engine, turbos usually are tuned for power at high revs. Thats not very useful for offroading. (the ea series turbos still get their max torque quite low though). Diesel engines with turbos are generally fine for offroading.

Throwout bearing is the thrust bearing that pushes against the pressure plate fingers when you push the clutch pedal.

you know the stuff, that hard tar like stuff they cover the inside of the floor with. Anyway i need to get it off, to do some serious floor welding! Does anyone know of any easy way to get this goo off?? Cheers

i would just get another alternator, external regulator would be a pain to wire up.

Sounds like something is wwrong in your carb - the float level may be too low.

Sounds like you may just have a vacuum leak - check that all the vacuum hoses are connected and not cracked.

What exactly do you want to remove? (and why?)

Some suggestions - check ignition system, advance timing further, run some cleaner through the injectors.

It brings up a light on the dash when the exhaust/cat overheats. I spose its so you dont start catching fire or something!

Hey, just a thought, are you sure its an o2 sensor and not an exhaust temperature probe? My '81 has a light on the dash for one, so they must have come on some models.

You need to change that filter for a new one. Theres no piont in checking the oil pressure before you do that, cos the filter may be the problem. If its REALY stuck, and you cant get it out with an oil filter wrench, whack a screw driver into it and turn it out like that. You really shouldn't have to resort to that though!

I assume HC is hydrocarbons? If so, it could be something as simple as dirty injectors. Does it idle smoothly?

Does the water in the radiator froth or bubble when the engine is running? Take the cap off and look. If it does, its a sure sign you have head gasket probs.

I cant think of any reason why there would be a problem either. The rocker assembly looks the same. :-\

Yes, they are exactly the same. I am using a 3at one my 4 DR ea81t.

I have also heard that all hydro lifter engines will have the knock sensor boss. The push rods also have different ends, someone posted a page from a manual showing the difference, but i can't remember who.....

The water/air intercooler is on the list for my ea81t also. How do you think you will run the water pump? ie turns on when the water reaches a certain temp, turns on with boost, or on all the time etc.

WOW! That looks mint. Seems a little odd that the turbo had to be replaced with such low mileage. I would definately want to see it in person if i were buying it. if its in as good condition as it looks it would be a good buy IMO.

What makes you say it looks like a dealer option? Has flashers on the fender, i cant say ive seen one without them. I may just not have noticed.

Yeah, use the ea81t distributor. It has a different ignition module in it for the knock control system.
