Any advice? I have a 2000 OBW with 130K on it. Runs like a dream. I just noticed while driving in Hot weather (85 +) at highway speeds, with the AC on, my temp gauge starts to slowly climb up above 3/4. I have not hit red yet nor have i had any CEL's come on yet. I can have the AC on around town no problem, but at highway speeds (65 +) it starts to heat up. If i cycle the AC off, it starts to cool off slowly and then stays steady at 1/2. No smells, the AC is cold (when on), sounds like the fans are running, haven't really noticed anything weird. The only other piece of info that i have is that it seems to be dripping more than a normal amount of condensation under the front passenger side. I know it's supposed to drip condensation normally but it seems excessive. I had the dreaded HG problem fixed 1 year and 15K miles ago. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thermostat, Water Pump, Radiator, Fans??? What do you think? Thanks!

I have about 108K on my 00 OBW. I just took a 3K mile Road Trip from Minnesota out through Jackson Hole WY and up throught Yellowstone and back through MT. While in the mountains my tranni started to "slip" a little. If you were to come to a rolling stop and then give it some gas there is a lag and it kind of jumps into gear. Do i simply need a transmission flush? Or could it be that my tranni is going bad? I had my 90K mile maintenance done but i only had my transmission drained and re filled, not flushed. Do you think that would matter? Thanks for the input.

Building oil pressure makes sense, but it's never done this before, even in -20 Degree weather! It cranks for about 4-5 seconds when it does this otherwise it will crank right over under normal conditions. Ill check the plugs to see if they are dirty. That could be the issue too. That would make sense, if the plug isn't igniting the mixture completely it could cause the CEL to pop on.

I know, I don't have an Autozone around for 150 Miles is the problem. I had the codes pulled about a month ago and they said it came back clean with no codes read... Can the check engine light come on and not create a code? Can the computer in your car clear out the old codes after a certain amount of time? Thanks for the input though...

Hey, i have a 2000 OBW and my Check Engine light has been coming on more frequently as of late (last 6000K). It will turn on and be on for a couple hundred miles and then turn off. I haven't noticed anything wrong with the performance of my car. In fact it drives perfectly. The only little nuance that i have noticed in the last couple days is that it's starting a bit strange. When you turn the key the starter starts spinning but instead of the engine firing right away it just keeps spinning. Sometimes i let off the key and then turn it over again and it fires right up like nothing happened. Othertimes if you kind of stay on the starter for a second or two longer it will fire. My questions are... 1) could this be something to do with my fuel pump, injectors, or O2 Sensors? I know Check engine lights commonly come on for the sensors. 2) could the check engine light be related to this nuance? Im guessing possibly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's all pretty funny, Well not funny for you 98leg. I just brought my 00OBW in for a "free oil change" at the dealership i bought it at. I couldn't make it back by the time they closed so i didn't get a chance to talk with them yet but on the invoice it said under the "recomendations" area: Head gasket has bad leak, and front seal needs replacement. What a joke. I bought this car 7 months ago from this dealer. Ive put 11K miles on it and they are now telling me that i need a complete head gasket and front seal! I just had it in 6K ago for the 90K maintenance at a different garage and he said every thing looked great on the car, including the gaskets! I don't trust the dealerships. Unless they can take me under my car and show me exactly what they are trying to sell me on, im not buying it!

I have a 00 OBW and i have that irregular problem as well...Weird. It seems to only happen once in a while and the gate is released by hitting my FOB lock, then unlock once. I have a rubber cargo tray in the back for my St. Bernard and i was just assuming that the rubber mat was kind of jamming the door somehow, Until, I spoke with my sister who has a 98 OBW and her's did the same thing! She has been having problems with hers for a couple of years now. Strange...
