Well let me know if he wants to buy it back win I am done with it lol but most likely not all the good stuff will be on my RX
-
I can iv got the paperwork to go forward with filing a banded vehicle but I'm not sure if I'm going to go through with it only because I need the transmission for my RX and I will be EJing my 3door coupe I will reegear the LSD to 3.9's and mite as well throw the rear disc brakes on it as well. as for the lift kit I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do with it yet I'm not a big fan of 6 inch lifts. as for the body it is in really good shape the only bad spots are where they cut the fender well corners for the tires the interior is in very nice shape so if any of you are interested in just the body I'll let it go cheap or I'll just have to cut it up throw the pieces of it in with scrap metal and part of out

I'm so stoked after breaking the transmission in my 86 Subaru rx four door sedan I thought for sure I would never find another 3.7 dual range transmission ever again lo and behold searching through my local Craigslist here I find A loyal wagon was lifted had some to bumpers on it the guy was only asking $300 so I go and decide to take a look at it what do I find an LSD rear disc brakes and 3.7 gear ratio transmission out of an Rx and to top it off the wagon also had a 2.2 swap and a set of Pujo 15in wheels talk about my lucky day for a parts car I ended up picking it up for 250 bucks oh yeah not to mention the reason why its a parts car no title and a wiring harness is one heck of a rats nest I did the EJ 2.2 in my RX it looks nothing like this bad wiring harness swap

Okay now I'm just getting confused some of you guys have said it's pretty much impossible the others say different repairing the bottom end of this engine is highly unlikely because it was ran out of oil so my biggest question would be I know I lose compression horsepower torque if I put the 2.2 to block with a 2.5 heads i want to know is which head gaskets should I use????¿¿
-
I appreciate it but if I can make it run I kind of have to. limited on cash I work with what I got and I'm not to worried about the emissions as the county I live in is a farm County and will never have emissions at least as long as I'll be alive. I preciate all the input you guys have been helpful I can make this car run with the first gen legacy 2.2 liter and if I know my cars good enough I should be able to make the check engine light go bye bye bye and do it the right way
-
Not selling the car and as for any emissions check we have none of those where I live and the check engine light is the least of her worries as long as I can make the car run and drive function properly and get decent fuel economy still by all means I'm going for it thanks for all the input is helpful how do you say I know where to start looking

I'm happy I'm on the ferry as of right this minute headed to Kingston driving up from there -
Coupeville Port Townsend ferry WCSS
angerthis replied to angerthis's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I didn't reserve tickets because I honestly didn't think I was going to get my car done in time to be able to even go -
Does anyone have any reservations for the Coupeville Port Townsend ferry for Saturday morning that they are not using please let me know they are full and I can't get over there unless I Drive all the way down to the Kingston Edmonds ferry and that's a lot further for me to drive so they have an extra reservation or not going please let me know thank you

Yeah I did notice that I was out in the field yesterday after I got my 3.9 transmission working the car did awesome donuts before tell you what it was even more fun. today I'm going to a little mom and pops Auto Wrecking they've got an 86 GL wagon that's got my adjustable coilover struts for the front that are like what's on my car so at least I will have the suspension done. so if all goes well I will be at WCSS And once I do get a decent schematics of the teardown of the transmission I will break it down and see what I actually broke and I'll let you all know soon as I do. Thanks all for any input

Yeah I did drain the gear oil It was the first thing I done sorry I did not mention that. the plug had the usual metal shavings on it nothing out of the ordinary and no big chunks came out of it either. I took a flashlight and peaked up inside the transmission with the tires off the ground spun the third member looking thing that is in side. none of those gears looked broken or damaged at all is there a possibility that I just broke the main shaft or something like that I'm not sure of all the internal pieces and parts inside those things. But on the plus side today I was able to drive my car I put my spare 3.9 transmission in it another than the bent strut the car drove perfectly I have not yet change the gears in the rear end yet hopefully I can get that done tomorrow as well as the struts first so I can at least drive my car to wcss
-
Yeah now the transmission is already out it's got to be internally cuz I can have somebody hold the axle stubs and I try to spin the input shaft still does the same thing but before I pulled the engine and transmission out with the car running in neutral I let out the clutch it made the same noise at first I thought it was the clutch disc now I know its not but when I would put the transfer case in 4 wheel drive and leave the transmission in neutral clutch out the noise would go away I jack the front end of the car up transmission in first gear transfer case in front wheel drive I would let out the clutch like I wear to drive the front tires would spin but I give it a little bit of gas instantly you would start to hear that grinding clicking sound I hope you all understand my no punctuation explanation LOL

Okay so I messed up my Subaru this time something inside the transmission broke I ran a little too hard at a tough truck challenge my 86 Subaru rx 4 door sedan with an EJ 2.2 liter and the factory 3.7 dual range transmission Something internally in the transmission has broken if you watch the video it explains more sorry for the poor quality and the radio in the background I didn't even think about it until after I posted it Thanks for any input that I may get I love my Subaru but I love to beat in on it just as much why not Subaru's loved it
