  1. I am not sure where the wetness is coming in from. Between the carpet and the rubber liner it is wet. The sides panels with carpet are wet to the touch. There are 2 sun roofs. The "gutters" of the sun roofs were suppose to be cleaned out by the dealer when I last had service done. Not sure if it really was done. The back hatch does not open most of the time. I am not sure if it is the mechanism that opens and closes the hatch door or the hatch lock. I have been told two different things at 2 different Subaru service departments. I lubricated the lock hatch with WD-40. It did not solve the problem. I can only open the hatch door using a key. I used to be able to just squeeze the hatch handle and the hatch door would open. Now, it is a struggle to open the hatch with a key and the hatch handle. Unfortunately, the hatch door does not have a way to open it from the inside of the car(like a lever). Any ideas; help; suggestions; would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hi. My 2004 Subaru Legacy Wagon is leaking inside the back of the car. I have had the sunroof "gutter" cleaned by the Subaru Dealer. I thought this problem was resolved. I am not sure where the wetness is coming into the car? It seems to be only in the back of the car where the hatch is. I have taken everything out and aired dried it recently. The floor and the side panels (that are carpeted ) of the inside of the car walls are wet to the touch. I have a Subaru liner on top of a plastic bag. Both are wet to the touch. I put a bath towel on top of the black liner and that is wet also. A few weeks ago, I went to a drive through car wash. I am not sure if water is getting inside from the bottom of the car? I am not sure the dealer actually cleaned out the gutters or if it is something else. Another issue: The hatch lock is not operational sometimes. I had 2 dealers work on that. One Subaru dealer told me that I needed to replace a part that was the mechanism for the hatch lock, but not the hatch lock itself. They wanted money upfront to special order the part for over $250. Then, I would need to pay for labor. The other dealer said that I needed a new hatch lock and that would be approximately $260. and when I went back for them to order the part, all of the people who had previously worked there had left. I am not sure what I need and how to fix the hatch door lock to open and close consistently. Unfortunately, there is no latch to open the trunk hatch from the inside. Thanks for your assistance.
