whats the best way to do that? Just a 1inch block on the rear diff, and a block on each side of the crossmember? Ive never meddeld with anything lifted vefore, but im all for trying!
-
That makes sense. Ya it was sold to me as having a 6"inch lift. So i guess between the blocks and bigger tires... maybe. What exactis jaw luft? I tried doing a bit of digging, but not finding much. Is it a brand, or style of lift?

finally some time to roll around and take some pictures of the wagon. you can see them here http://s1381.photobucket.com/user/bratparts/library/?sort=3&page=1 as far as I can see it looks like there are blocks on the strut towers, and its got 15 inch rims on it.... cant really tell if the back struts are normal, or if they were modified as well? cant seem to find any other lift blocks on the rig anywhere... any help would be much appreciated

Ah you are correct scooner, it was sold to me as a loyal, but the title says its a g4 glsw. So yeah, not a loyal. Ill try to get pics of all the lift hardware but it probably wont happen until this weekend when i have daylight to go play with it.

Brought home this 86 loyal today, its got a 6 inch lift already installed, unfortunately i dont know much about the lift. Had to drive it home in 4wd engaged as the front cv axels had been broken from the previous owner, due to the angle from the lift. They mentioned i could maybe replace the axels and put a sleeve over them to prevent the axel breaking. Are there any other solid fixes to this? I know there's a few other lifted wagons out there, so im hoping some has a good workaround? Thanks in advance!

Just curious what a fair asking price is for T top windows. Found a set, windows only, for 50 bucks a window. Seemed pretty pricey to me.

Awesome, thanks for all the info!

So I picked up a used SJR lift kit the other day, I was told its a 3 inch lift kit that's supposed to fit my BRAT. I have a 1980 1st gen BRAT, not sure if that makes any difference for the lift. I emailed the maker of the lift for further specifics ( I understand he's been a member here for a while) So my reason for the post, is I was wanting input from anyone that's installed these before. This will be my first time installing a lift ( and I likely wont get around to installing it until next spring) So any help just letting me know what I'm in for, or things I need to beware of before installing this would be much helpful!

2 inch lift & 6 lug swap
d8usti5n replied to dannycisneros's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
When are you planning on doing this? I might be able to help. I'm in Smokey Point and would like to learn how to put a lift on, as I may be doing this to my brat down the road. -
Looking at replacing the cv's on my Brat sometime in the near future. Just curious what im getting into if i do them myself (never changed a cv before). Anything abnormally hard or frustrating? Any special tools needed? I eould like to gain the experience going these myself, but Am i better off paying to have these done? Thanks for any help!
