  1. Yeah I didn't really think about scratches. Guess you could use tearoffs! Haha -Nathan
  2. Anybody ever looked into Plexiglas? I know there are a couple of companies that do custom Plexiglas windshields for autocross and stuff. It may be a bit more spendy (or not) but at least you wouldn't ever have to worry about cracks! --Nathan
  3. So I'm in the process of giving my 89 coupe a shiny new paint job and a few extra accessories (I'll post pics when it's done) and I was thinkin I'm gonna get a windshield sticker that says "Rally-Bred" anybody have any cool font ideas? Thanks! --Nathan
  4. Your timing info should be on the bottom side of your hood. Approximately right above the battery
  5. Check all of your fuses. My 89 is very touchy, if even 1 fuse blows it won't run. Even if it's a stupid one that isn't required to run. Also check to see if you have continuity through the ignition coil wire that leads to the dizzy. Good luck! --Nathan
  6. Having high idle, I'd say check the PCV valve vacuum hose first. It's a start.
  7. It's called dieseling here in Idaho haha. All ya gotta do is either, like they already said, up the octane for a bit, OR you can hold the throttle open to rev it up and pour a LITTLE bit of water down the intake. Not too much cause it'll hydrolock, but a little tiny bit at a time will clean it out
  8. I'm going 2.25 with a Thrush Welded. Kinda interested to see how the dual in dual out sounds.
  9. Since I can't post pictures from my phone... My 89 GL Coupe just rolled past 177,777.7
  10. Any from other vehicles that would be fairly easy to fit in? I'm okay with a little bit of fab work...
  11. Okay so after a fairly thorough search, I haven't found a definite answer about air struts. Is there an aftermarket set that I can buy for my 89 coupe? I want to lower my car a little bit, but I don't want to sacrifice the fact that I can get it airborne without destroying the underbody haha. Any suggestions? Thanks! --Nathan
  12. I've been kicking around the idea of air suspension for my coupe.. Any suggestions?
  13. So wait doesn't the xt have air suspension?
  14. My car does that when its beginning to warm up. It only does it at idle really, but it does hesitate off the line sometimes. Mine is fuel injected though no carbureted.. So I figured it was just halfway between warm and cold and didn't know whether to choke it or not....

  16. I'll trade you cars! Haha I have an 89 GL hatch like that that I got for $300. I'll post pics of it when I get to a computer.

  18. I hate to add to the mix, but I have some Nissan 16" 6 spoke rims that you might be interested in. They have the 4x114.3 pattern. I can show you a picture if you want. --Nathan
  19. Any kind of relays going to the ignition system? Maybe one is stuck open or closed? I don't know a whole lot about the older brats, but its a suggestion.
  20. I'd start with fuel pump. If the dizzy was having issues it would be more consistent. As far as it sputtering and dying when its cold, that's not a huge surprise with the Weber. My suby doesn't have one, but my LUV does and it hates running cold.. I always have to be pumping the gas, I can't just hold it in one place.
  21. So I have an 89 GL hatch. I have a few plans for it as far as restoring interior and performance. I want to give it a nice paint job too. All things will come with time, but I have also been considering the possibility of converting the steering and suspension components from a WRX. I have looked at many pictures, and obviously its going to take some fabbing and a lot of work, but I was just curious if it would even work? Do you guys think it would take a whole lot of chopping to fit things like struts and steering knuckles? The parts all look very similar and I really want to try it! --Nathan
