Don't forget the gas tank. That thing could be rusty and filled with varnish. Theres a screen that gets clogged by the pickup tube. If the carbs not getting proper fuel pressure, it wont run right.

I haven't done it yet but planned on doing something similar. I like to keep the stock look but the foams all dried out. I talked to my auto upholstery buddy and he said he could easily use the old everything and rebuild the foam to my specs then I could have a seat that looked and functioned like the old one but was much more comfy and supportive to my needs. I'm gonna try and go custom like that. It was going to be $100 for one seat which was similar to buying another seat.

I was looking for parts at a city junkyard and came across this in the back of a tow lot. Been sitting there since 2004 with only 53000 miles. Story is older lady ran over a snow bank and then some barricade so its got a little damage to the front right and the mustache bar has a slight bend in it. My buddy ended up getting it and after adding a fuel pump and battery, he's got himself a nice little running Subaru. Its an automatic but a very complete car. Interior is excellent aside from some faded seats on one side. A/C blows cold which is essential for the Midwest. I'll let me friend do the full report on this thing.

If you can, slip in some 'cool' stuff that'll add to the safety a little. Easiest is a Bluetooth stereo so shes not talking on the phone with one in her hand. I'd also consider some better lighting out front. I'd wait a year and see how she drives at night before adding tint as it can throw some weird night light around in addition to being more difficult to see. Been there. My daughter is 22 now and has been driving a white 93 Chrysler New Yorker with red interior. It came from a lady who got too old to drive. Her name was Erma. That's Grandma if I ever heard it.

I ended up cleaning my old bushings as best possible (toothbrush) and then injecting them with 3M Window Weld. I let it sit for 3 days before driving. Its been over a month and they are hugely improved over the old ones and possibly better than stock new ones.

Took home a Best In Class win at a Midwest Subaru car show called Scoobapalooza. OK, I was the only one in my class but for the WRX, STI group, they really like the old Loyale Wagon and it got a lot of looks. Pre 93 class. It turned out they actually didn't have a placque or trophy for my class so they game me a 3rd place autocross trophy.

Anyway, mines fuel injected so it may be different but it was located on firewall side of the intake manifold, center lower portion. Follow your hoses out the valve covers and see where they go. Youd have oil all over the inside of your engine compartment. Whats your tailpipe look like?

Pioneer MVH-X560BT is the head unit. I haven't had issues with radio reception but I'm in an urban area too. I did have to buy an antenna cable extension to hook the unit up. Only drawback on these newer units is you really can't see anything on the display during the day.

I just put a new head unit and speakers in the back doors of my loyale wagon. I didn't need a CD player so I went with a mechless head unit. The unit was only about 4 inches deep so there was absolutely no fitment issues.I bought a faceplate adaptor and a wiring harness adaptor so I could plug in unit. I did run new wires for the back door speakers since the Subaru was common ground. You could either run new wire to the fronts or backs to eliminate issues with the common ground. The rear doors have wiring for speakers and cutouts for 6 1/2 in round speakers. You'd need to make a cutout specific to your speakers but its all easy. I ended up getting a pioneer Bluetooth head unit so I could go handsfree with the phone but its really nice for listening to music on all other formats but CD.

[/url Got a new sound in my Loyale Wagon. Added this Pioneer Bluetooth unit which is mech less so its only about 4 inches deep. Has USB and Aux inputs on back so now all my wires are in the glovebox and my phones just used through the stereo. also wired in some 6 1/2 rear door speakers. I've taken over this little wagon for work and its been awesome aside from using the phone. Now that I'm handsfree, its AWESOMER. In 3 months Ive owned it I've replaced intake gaskets, water pump, alternator, muffler and tailpipe, clutch cable, tune up items, added 14" pugs, replaced struts/shocks, removed plastic timing covers, reworked rear axle carrier bushings, patched rust, painted, and put 8000 miles of anything from city potholes to forest ATV trails. Aside from some of the wrenching, there's been a pretty big grin on my face. I think the subie smiled some too.

I just replaced all shocks,struts on corners on my loyale and it was OK after that. The rear still floated over on turns. I also had some crap differential mount bushings. After I filled in the rear differential mount bushings with 3M window weld, the rear stiffened up to the point where the front was even better too. I feel like Im on rails now. I can see the front sway bar bushings are toast so I may see what I'm looking for answers for that here too.

Suprjohn. Which stereo did j get? I want a short mech less with Bluetooth.

Not sure on 2 wd but my 4wd cable was $33 from dealer so it might be worth checking

If Miles is right and its the intake gaskets, those bolts are a b''''ch. We heated, pb blasted, heated, pb blasted over a 3 day period before even touching them with a tool. Then we still had 2 snap off and had to drill those out. LOTS OF HEAT. TAKE YOUR TIME. And when you reinstall, use some antiseize on those bolts.

I think I've finally isolated the clanking in the back to the worn out mustache bar bushings on my 92 Loyale Wagon? So far I've replaced front struts and mounts, rear shocks. It rides great but the clanking gotta be fixed. I haven't check the dealer but it seems like I might not be able to just get a new pair. I saw an old post where someone used some fiber/rubber steering disks to tighten up the bushings. Any ideas on how to fix this or possibly find the bushings?

Sounds like what happened to my loyale when it was just a tooth off on one belt. It'd run and start but the power wasn't there. Quadruple check?
