  1. Thanks for the info. I guess I will just have to keep hunting.
  2. I am new here and new to Subarus also. I'm 49 and have been around a garage setting since I was 12. This is my first dealings with these great little cars. I purchased my son-in-law a 86 GL 4wd sedan about a year ago for $500. It is a great little car. I bought myself a 90 Loyale automatic with pushbutton 4wd with a blown head gasket for $350 about a month ago. Had it fixed in a Saturday. I had to go get my youngest son in our recent snowstorm because he was stranded. Long story short he now has my Loyale. LOL. I have a Honda CRV and the little Subaru goes better than it does. This week I bought a 92 Loyale 5 speed pushbutton 4wd for $400 with the rearend supposedly making noise. The previous owners left it in 4wd because it wouldn't come out with the pushbutton. I had it out of 4wd about 10 minutes after getting it home and off the trailer. Needless to say, it isn't the rear making the noise. It is the tranny in first and second. I don't know how long it will last. I have posted a question about tranmission interchanges in the forum. Anyhow, Hi to all and thanks for any help in advance.
  3. Hi all, I have a question. I have purchased a 92 Loyale with a 5 speed and push button 4wd and the previous owners have about done it in. They drove it in 4wd all the time because it wouldn't come out by the button. I had it out of 4wd about 10 minutes after getting it home. Anyway, long story short they have damaged 1st and 2nd gear. I have found a 5 speed push button 4wd in a local junkyard in a 87 Gl turbo wagon. Will this work in my 92 Loyale? I keep getting different answers around here and I need to know before I buy something that won't work. It has the same vacuum operated 4wd pod on it. I know it will bolt to the engine in my Loyale. Will my axles work with it and will my driveshaft to the rear end work with it. Any help with answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
