Calling out all Michigan Subaru owners. I have a Facebook group I just created called: Old School Subaru's of Michigan I created the group so that we could possiably organize local meets, and have a place to buy, sell, and trade parts and cars to other enthusiasts. So if you are in or around Michigan join up. Heres a link to the page directly https://www.facebook.com/groups/596735810437652/ the group is a closed style group so that not anyone can just join without permission from an admin (Me) Im looking to focus the group at 94 and older Subaru's but im fine with other year car owners joining as well. So tell your friends as well and let's get this group growing.

Yeh well my luck fell short. Someone snagged the motor and trans... Including the trans mount out of the car. Such a Pity the car has been in the yard for over a year and no one has touched in then the second I go to get something off it the one thing I need is gone. At least all the brakes are still on it. So I'll probly snag those off and put them up for sale. Anyone have any pictures of homemade crossmembers?

K i know this is an old thread But for people that are in this situation i have the solution. I did a ej25d swap into a 99 OBS. i ran the ej25 off of the ej22 computer and it worked just fine everything worked out except my spark plugs and the IAC. so I rig up the spark plugs using parts off both engines. (needed the longer wires from the 2.2 and i need the ends from the 2.5) in the end they worked great. then came the sensor. I made an adapter plate for the sensor. it bolted on to the ej25d's intake mainfold and had a hole in the middle for the phase 2 IAC. mine worked out. not saying this is your best option but for me i had to get the car running. if i had the time i would have done an adapter plate for the intake manifold itself.

Ok awesome glad to put my worries at ease. I was just going through all the different things that will be hiccups in the process and this came to mind.

So I'm planning on swapping an ej into my loyale along with a full drive train swap. It came to mind to start thinking of how the clutch engagement will work. I have a cable clutch on the loyale so how will I go about hooking up a slave cylinder in the car? Has anyone successfully done this?

I would call that risky business bot saying it wouldn't work but I wouldn't risk something like your cooling system for your motor because u want a little more room.

Thanks for the input milesfox only part I did t understand was that last little bit. I have a push button 4wd 5 speed trans on my loyale. Would that mean I have the 25 spline axles?
-
Also once I get one of these cars what all will I need to take from the wiring? Just the main harness that goes to the ecu or do i need to strip more off the car. And will I need to get the drive shift cut down or will the donor vehicles work. Same question for axles as well. Will I need to run different hubs to fit different number or splines on the axle or are all Subaru axles the same.

I was leaning toward the legacy as well but I talk the guy with the forester down to $1000 for the whole car. It has a rebuilt motor with 10,000 miles on it with a fresh clutch.

ok so i have a 90 subaru loyale turbo (ea82t) motor and trans are both going bad. The car is very clean for its age though. Ive been reading about different swap options for the cars and it seems the popular way to go is 91-94 ej22. thats great and all but i cant find one for the life of me. So after looking for awhile ive found 3 options that stick out to me. #1: http://centralmich.craigslist.org/cto/4600485282.html I could take this car and pull out engine, trans, harness, and ecu. Swap it all in and call it a day. #2: http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/4597322215.html Ive talked to this guy. he wants $1000 for engine trans harness, ecu and diff. motor has 10k on it and trans had newer clutch. #3: Find an ebay or jdm import motor of my choice. problem ive found with this is not alot of them come with a harness. let me know what you think

Why does everyone like the ej22 tho? It's pretty much the exact same motor but with less Hp isn't it?

awwesome i gave him a call and he said hes in the middle of a move and will hopefully be able to sell me blueprints asap. Not sure on his standing on weather or not he cares if i start producing these but i work at a fabrication shop and these look farily simple to create. So in other words these lifts might be on the market again soon -

Blow thru Maf setup??? Anybody
Jabbott126 replied to 2K4 STI's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hate digging up old threads but there are big benifits to having a blow through setup. First off the bov can be ran to the atmosphere (like you said doesnt do much under 20psi) but apart from that it will also save your rump roast if you get a bad boost leak. The car wont care if it has a leak lime it does when the maf is in the begining of the system because maf's work by metering air intake. So the car will only care about the air that has pasted the maf and nothing else. So in other words the closer to the throttle body your MAF is the safe you will be and the more accurate on air accuatly going into your motor -
It has a Borg warner IHI on it running 10psi. I like the air box as well i have lots of ideas to make the car nicer and i have a custom fab shop at my disposal Im from muskegon area and yeh i picked it up in the Caledonia area
