I agree with that. I'm not a big fan either. I did it for a temp fix until I had time to do thechead gaskets. I am going to do head gaskets on an older Suby tomorrow but I have not done a h6. I do know there are 56 bolts in the timing cover alone. And dual timing chains with a lot of guides to keep them in place. :-)

They say that the blue devil head gasket repair is the best. Its usually available at any parts store and they keep it in back so you have to ask for it. (People like to steel it, its expensive). It worked on a ranger for me. But the problem is it sounds like exhaust side is leaking into water side. If that's the case, it probably wont work because the pressure is flowing the wrong way for the additive to get to the leak.

Also the outback was a 2.5 double can motor. -

I found out its a 98 2.2 from an impreza with a 5 speed. The outback is a 5 speed also. -

What about the cyclops headlight option they had on brats. I am working on a brat and the guy has a cyclops grill he wants me to install. Also this brat has flip up ttops. -

I can't figure out what year the ea81 motor is. Does year matter when ordering gaskets. Also are the ea82 heads the same as an ea81.

I am about to go through an ea81 motor for a friends brat. Is there a recommended brand for a gasket set. (Head, intake, valve covers, etc). Also with a lot of miles on it, what else should I think about doing to it? Thanks

Timing is good. I thought the firing order was 1,3,2,4. -

Looks like #1 & #3 aren't firing. I changed the plugs, wires, and distributor. No change. -
