My 98 gt seems like its running on 3 cylinders. No codes present, I checked the timing and its good. It had an o2 censor code so I replaced it but no change in his it runs. I'm wondering if a bad head gasket would not throw a code. Thanks Dp213

I have a 5 speed legacy and I guess it has hill assist brakes. Right front brake locked up but there is no cable going to the unit. Any help would be great. Thanks Dp213

So with a manufacturing date of 9/98 does that meen it is a non interference 2.2 motor.

I put a 95 2.2 into the same car you have except auto. It was quite easy and turned out great. You will have to loop 2 vacuum lines together on the front on the intake. A little tricky because they are different sizes but not bad. Also on the passenger fender well you will have to t 1 vacuum port to 2 hoses. Other than that it is pretty much plug and play. I haven't found a STI motor for less than $4000. Would it cost that much to turbo the 2.5?

It has 300,000 miles on it. A bad head gasket, rings are bad, water pump siezed and that's just the beginning.

Without buying a STI motor. Is it possible to get a lot more power out of my 97 dual can 2.5?

My 99 legacy has a bad 2.2 in it. Will a 2.2 from an earlier model work to replace it? Thanks

I just put a 97 2.2 from a legacy in my 98 outback. I have a knock sensor code that wasn't there when the motor was in the legacy. Any thoughts. Also when I am driving and give it gas I hear a whistle sound now. Thanks

I just finished putting a 2.2 from a 97 legacy into a 98 outback. I am getting a code po325. Didn't have that on the legacy when motor was pulled. Any thoughts Also when I give it gas while driving I hear a whistle sound. Thanks

I must have something bent inside the door. The front tab misses the stop by about 1/4" but the back one hits it

OK hopefully this is my last post on this project. It runs and drives great but I have a couple small things. A knock sensor code, it sometimes doesn't shift at the right time and when I give it gas while driving it has a whistle. Thanks for all the input and advice.

My 2000 legacy windows don't stop when they are supposed to. They go about a half inch to far and have split the rubber seal. I looked inside the door and can see the stopper but it is about 1/4" from the catch when you roll the window up. Any ideas. Thanks

Well engine swap is done. It fired right up but now it sounds like valva chatter. The engine sounded perfect when pulled from the doner car. Any ideas?
