I pulled the dash to do a heater core t his weekend, and now I have an air bag light on. I only know of 3 air bag connections, 1 at the center console to the unity and then 1 to each side of the dash. All plugged in. Am i missing something else or is it possible when lowering the steering wheel, the clock spring somehow got messed up.

I'm really not going too get to enjo y it much. She doesnt know it yet, but I am going to give it to my woman and take her 98 gt wagon. She likes the heated seats and everything and it's much nicer than hers. -

Did it have the mis before the swap -
I just bought a very nice 99 outback mechanic special. The person lost all power at 60mph on the freeway. Some shop looked at it for probably a minute and told him timing probably went and bent valves and everything. I pulled the timing covers and found the toothed roller was in 2 pieces. Had spare parts laying around so I put on a new roller and reset the timing and the car started fine and sounds great. Ordered a new timing kit and will put it in on saturday and enjoy my new suby:-)

I had the same issue with my 98. I tried everything. Sometimes it would start if you held the key in the start position for about 5 seconds, sometimes it wouldn't. After new ignition and new starter and same problem, I ran a 10awg wire from the ignition switch to the starter and haven't had an issue since.

Did it run fine with the other intake on it before you changed it -
Update. Fuel pump flows great, maf swapped, still same problem. I had a scanner hooked to it today and was watching live data while driving around. I (think) all looked well, but I no tires 1 thing odd. The line labeled fuel sys1 was bouncing back and forth between clsd and open1. Does anyo me know if that is normal or should it stay one way or the other. It would change all the time, car was comepletly warm and it would do it while I was giving it gas or not.

98 gt no start

When I run a new wire from the switch to the starter, should I half tap both ends which would keep the existing wire connected as well. Or will having a loop like that be a problem and I should just cut it at both ends and only use the new wire. -
Ecu question

According to the mechanic (who I know and trust) the knock sensor was picking something up and regarding the timing. He was able to see it happen on his scan tool. Everything else tested fine. He suggested replacing the knock sensor to make sure it wasn't bad, but he was pretty sure it was picking up a noise from within. I did replace it and it still did it. Would any of the mentioned sensors cause the knock sensor to do that. -
Ecu question

I replaced literally everything except the cat when I did the motor swap. I used a complete different motor and intake, so no sensors were reused as well as plugs and wires. Fuel pump and filter were replaced with new ones and the car was in a reputable shop that tested the cat. I am down to either a wire problem in the dash or ecu. Unless I am missing something else. I did try an ecu from an 01 5 speed impreza and it wouldn't even start. Put the original ecu back in and it fired right up so I am thinking the ecu is 99 impreza only. Which is what I found on a couple sites. -
Ecu question

It's explained in my other post (99 impreza power loss). I know its very uncommon but i have to try. So, any idea on the ecu fitment -
I am trying to figure out what ecu will work in my 99 impreza. I have read 99 to 01 will work, but I have also read 99 only. My 99 ecu says b1 on it and I can get an 01 ecu but it has b2 on it and they have different part numbers. The 99 is 22611ae511 and the 01 is 22611ae523. Both are from 2.2 with 5 speed. Anyone now if that would work.
