  1. Try Subaru dealer with vin number and photo id. Key should cost about $20
  2. There should be about 6 total plastic clips that hold the grill on. I think it's 4 across the top and 2 lower. The top ones you can usually get a pair of needle nose and squeeze the release tabs in and pull out gently on the grill. The lower ones are a bit harder. Your supposed to be able to lift straight up on the grill, but the clips like to break. Subaru still sells all of the grill clips if they do break, but it's about $5 each.
  3. HAS, did your thumb button still push in even though it wouldn't shift out of park
  4. When I push the thumb button on the shifter handle, I hear a pretty loud click in the dash, and sometimes it won't shift out of park. Any ideas? Thanks
  5. I just did the same thing. They are $4.79 when you but them in quantity. So I will still be using blue for a while.
  6. I find it odd. About 2 years ago on this forum there was a big debate on filters, and the over welming outcome was only use Subaru filters. Have the oem filters changed since then?
  7. When you say, blue filters are junk. Are you referring to the blue Subaru filters from the dealership?
  8. Does unplugging it disable the power door locks. And also where under the dash is it. I can't find it
  9. Is there any way to remove the factory alarm from my outback. It goes into security mode (marker lights flashing) for no reason sometimes, and won't start. I don't have the remote button, and only about half the time hiring the lock button on the door will turn it off. Usually I have to remove the negative battery cable and reconnect it with key on. I have dealt with it for about a year, but now I'm going to sell the car and I need to fix it. Thanks
  10. I always pull the engines then push them out of the shop and pressure wash the engine bay, then push them back in
  11. I pulled the oil pump off the motor I picked to clean it and check the screws and reader the o ring. What I am wondering is there a gasket for the whole pump or should I put a thin coat of sealer or nothing at all.
  12. My son has a 2002 WRX wagon. He is looking for after market tail lights but can't find any. Everything seems to be for the sedan. Any ideas? Thanks
  13. Don't remember, got it from the shop I bought the tranny from. It was what they (require).
  14. It's an auto and all fluids are correct and at the right level.
  15. I had a bad tranny in my 98 GT so I bought a JDM from a local company. The prblem I am having is it's blowing gear oil from the breather tube on the front diff. The oil level is correct, I checked that first. Other than that dripping onto the exhaust it seems fine. Any ideas? Thanks
  16. My son had the same problem with his wrx. We couldn't figure it out for a while, then I changed the ground cables (that didn't look terribly bad), but apparently were. He hasn't had a problem since.
  17. You did use the marks on the pullies and not the arrows when lining everything up?
  18. Is there any way to put a roof rack on one of these cars? It has nothing on top right now. Do I need to find one and drill and seal. Thanks
  19. I would check the CV axle boot. If it's split it with throw grease everywhere, including on the exhaust. It's very thick grease so it doesn't drip like motor oil.
  20. Also is your Forester a 5 speed? If so, did you put the belt guide back on.
  21. Probably get nothing from Beck. On all interference motors I personally would only run the Aisin or Subaru tensioner. I run Aisin on all the early 2.2 motors and have had great luck with everything. Just my opinion though
  22. I run the Aisin kits. Best price on Amazon. Compete kit with water pump runs about $250 I think.
