  1. Okay, i'll be honest, I'm on a budget and dont have time for anything quality at the moment. I'm being offered a set of brake calipers from a 1995 Legacy. I know they're all single piston, but im not concerned with that. MY question is, will they bolt up to my existing set up? PLEASE HELP!!!
  2. I was just wondering if a good from a Impreza outback sport (90s) would fit my 98 legacy outback. Or how to go about getting a bigger scoop installed. Thanks for any help!
  3. Okay, so I was thinking about throwing my EJ22D heads onto my EJ25D (Both from 98). I don't know if this is possible so i wanted to get some opinions here first. I'll have the heads off soon when i do my headgaskets on my EJ25D. I was wondering: 1) if they'll fit. 2) What will it do to my power [increase, decrease, stay the same]. 3) Will it help at all the with the EJ25D's dreaded headgasket problems. Any info and opinions are welcome! Thanks for looking!
  4. Okay. My car with the 2.5 has a badge in the engine bay that says its fitted with a special TOB (I dont remember the part #) So i figured thats what i'd need. But thank you!
  5. Okay, I know that between the 98 Legacy Brighton and the 98 Legacy Outback, the throw out bearing is different, but can I use the clutch disc and pressure plate from the brighton and get away with buying just the special throw out bearing for the outback? The clutch is brand new and sitting in the brighton since the trans died and my clutch needs to be done in my outback and I'm hoping to save some money this way. I know the flywheel fits for sure, but I'm also hoping the clutch as well... I can't see why not when its bolted to the flywheel and the flywheel can swap over. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  6. Alright, i just ordered the 3/8'' spacers. I'll try to remember to post an update here when I get these struts finished up!
  7. I just want to even it out because it seemed like the best route to go. The difference between the two is really next to nothing like you said... i did here that the 3/8 MAY need the longer studs but im not positive if that is true or not
  8. Im putting STOCK 2002 WRX Struts on my 1998 Legacy Outback (Wagon). Will I have the butt sag that people are talking about? I've been reading around and everywhere says something different... some say yes, and get spacers, some say no. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks! Nick
  9. I was wondering if a clutch and a flywheel will swap over from a 1998 Legacy Brighton (2.2l) to a 1998 Legacy Outback (2.5l).
  10. thank you! I've been wondering for a while what it could be. I was about to do the Speedo head or replace the whole thing. But I'll take out the sensor and have a look.
  11. I drive a 1998 Legacy Outback Limited, and I've noticed that in first gear, when I get up to 4.5-5k rpms that my engine will sound like it hits the rev limiter and lose some power. Shifting cures it of course. I haven't tried in other gears but it does it in neutral too. It sometimes will not do it, but sometimes it will. What could be my problem? I do have a CEL for the code P0463. Could that be effecting it? I also have a minor gas leak that I haven't got around to fixing yet that could also be at fault. My Speedo and odometer also doesn't work. Gas gauge works when it wants to. Thanks for any help in advance!
  12. My Speedo, odometer, and gas gauge went out in my 98 legacy outback. My tach and temp gauge still works. What could be my problem?
  13. This is a stupid question. But can I swap a cluster from a 98 legacy Brighton into a 98 outback? I only ask because everything on my cluster minus the tach went out.
  14. Thank you very much! Both are 98's and MT, so they I should be good. Thanks again!
  15. Hey guys, I'm looking at doing my timing belt soon, and am looking for a reliable but cost friendly belt. Links or suggestions will all be accepted. Any advice you have for the job as well will be appreciated. (For a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback) Thanks in advance! -Nick
  16. I didn't want to mess with a rebuild kit because I already have the other starter in my parts car. The starter is just dead
  17. Will a starter from a 98 legacy Brighton fit on a 98 legacy outback lmt? Both are 5 speed mt, if that helps. Let me know, thanks !
  18. This build is going to be sweet!
  19. It's sad. I live in Michigan and you have such a hard time finding a rust free car coming originally from Michigan.
