  1. My 185k RX was *mint* shiny in that area as well. Inside of block had varnish...
  2. Which common fillers are hydroscopic? (for those who don't know -- like me)
  3. 1986 auto coupe GL (EA82) Anybody want it? I'm gonna tear the whole interior out and throw in my purdy RX pieces. I plan to trash all fabric stuff. Everything is soaked in mouse excrement, and the rear seat has a nasty hole. I won't junk the plastic, or even get it out for a while probably...
  4. That sucks. If you were doing 45 (or 35, or 30). you are gonna feel it tomorrow....
  5. I have no idea, but this might have the answer... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65321
  6. I used one of the plastic blanks to mount a switch. Spliced into the lighting harness to the switch. Switch activates independent fused relay. So parking lights or any other beams + switch on = fogs.
  7. Use screwdriver as stethescope to see if they're all firing. You may still hear clicking from the others if one is not clicking, but the good ones will be MUCH louder. Unplug one injector wire plug at a time. If engine changes, that one is good. If no change to engine, that cylinder is bad (fuel, spark, or compression). Unplug all injectors and measure resistance between the two pins. Should be ~2.5 ohms. Short circuit is bad, open is bad. Those will tell you something.
  8. Check with MilesFox. He is in the area. If he doesn't know about it, he will want to.
  9. I had a Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler on my RX. I liked the sound a lot. Not loud, nice rumble. I had all stock exhaust back to the muffler's 2.25" in and out.
  10. I've been watching that auction. Thinking about it myself. It has been relisted after it "sold", I don't know why. If the injector / 3-cyl is really the only problem, you will have no problem driving it home.
  11. My pipe snapped the exact same way. Lots of noise, not a lot of boost.

  13. Rain-X De-Icer windshield washer solvent - wont freeze, melts ice, applies rain-x, $2 for a gallon
  14. I had mine: pressure checked for $25 each, resurfaced for $25 each, valve job for $75 total, dis- and re-assembly included. I don't know what your plans for the engine are, but port and polish is not worth the expense.
  15. My 225k stock EA82T did those RPMs everyday for 100-150 miles. 4000rpm ~ 80mph = highway cruise. 4700+ rpm = backroad rally. 6000rpm = accel. No problems. Make sure cooling system is in good condition.
  16. I could use the oil cooler setup if it's there. The sandwich adapter at least.
  17. I was wondering the same thing when I ran into an old VW wagony something at the yard. 130mm sounds right.
  18. Do those prices include a lifetime warranty? They should.
  19. Wanna pound out a driveshaft out of spare titanium? Control arms? Diff hanger?
  20. I'm glad I decided to scroll down slowly... because my jaw dropped!
