  1. Technical Service Bulletin... not necessarily the same as a recall so much as a how to remedy for a problem.
  2. I made the above video when a friend returned to CT with the latest "additions" strapped to a carrier. Ah romance...
  3. And I thought it looked better with the Subaru on the bottom;) My initial thought was that it was a self-propelled Subie beta test.
  4. Yeah, driving down the road minding your own business and suddenly you're lap dancing with a moose! Yikes:eek:
  5. Moosens was not the driver in the accident but he is from CT.BTW was the moose a relative of Bulwnkl?
  6. Yup, this baby moose was wandering around lower Fairfield county on golf courses and in back yards for days. The wildlife folks were trying to tranquilize and relocate it and instead chased it onto the Merritt Pkwy. where my friend happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately, she doesn't remember the incident. BTW For those who remember the members on the Old Gen Subie site, Moosens is from Ct.
  7. Well, it's a year later and it's easier to look at since the driver has now significantly recovered from her injuries. The damage was from a baby moose that had roamed out onto the Merritt Pkwy in CT. Thankful for airbags. Wear your seatbelts ladies and gents!
  8. There is a rocker switch on top of the steering column that inevitably brings many a visitor to this site. Check to see that you didn't flip that switch while cleaning etc. It's a real DOH moment for many. Edit: Rooster beat me to the explanation.
  9. I recently changed the inner boot. There is a description on this site on how to do this without removing the whole axle. I had access to a lift so it was pretty simple to clean and regrease the joint and close it up. Apparenly the inner joint only moves up and down and doesn't get the workout that the outer one does. End result is I still have an original axle and no problems.
  10. How about the "Virgin Switch" that pesky little rocker switch on the steering column?? Did you by any chance hit that switch?
  11. OK it's that time again and Tire Rack has some incentives. My 05 OB came with Bridgestone Potenza RE92 and I haven't been left stranded (good sign). I live in lower Connecticut with fairly light snow conditions. On Tire Rack, the RE92 reviews seem to indicate that buyers would rather stick a needle in their ear than buy them again so... Much more highly rated in the Bridgestone family Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (sounds racey huh?) or the Turanza Serenity with the Serenity receiving slightly better reviews (probably written by the sales staff last Friday). Anyway, either way, they will cost about $101 each (after rebate) + $39 total shipping. Opinions?
  12. You're right but just in case, I did get permission from SOA to share manuals for the old 360's. Since you're in the mood to share, can I have some popcorn?
  13. In my 2000 Legacy, you first roll the rear seat portion forward (there's a release strap about midway across the seat) and then the back portion will lay flat. Otherwise, the back portion lays on a slant atop the seat portion.I am dubious about the air bag issue. I wonder if the dealer will ever "activate" an airbag that they didn't install... How do collision repair shops handle this situation... Were the front sensors even replaced... How will your insurance company look upon a salvage title AND there's still that nagging question about the inoperative clock!
  14. TIP: Did the exles come with directions, new axle nut? The pins on the transmission side only go in in one direction. If there is resistance, rotate the axle 180 degrees and try again.
  15. Ceiling clock inoperable... walk away. Actually, it's a common faulty/loose resistor. Easy fix. Find out if the car was treated to the head gasket "fix" by Subaru that would give you the extended warranty. 100K 8yrs. Call SOA and give them the vin#. SOA just added a stop leak goop to the coolant and off you go. PS Don't fall in love with this car especially if'n you're lookin' at an OB with wandering eyes.
