  1. My bumper, took the directions from subarubrat.com , credit where credit is due. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B44JjK5C_rtDaldmVW1fZWxQX1VtRElBMzk5WldRN0h1Tk9n/view?usp=sharing And my quad fits!! (yours truly in the photo) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B44JjK5C_rtDQzhwQ0QzTzYzMFdOZzZYaWRESDN1NTB6U05N/view?usp=sharing Although it is a little saggy... Weighs less than 500lbs, didn't think it would be too much for her. I'm hoping to be able to roadtrip them together.
  2. Check for spark and what not at the coil to disty line, and then all the plug wires individually. Air, fuel, and spark are what's needed. Sounds like you're getting the first 2, but might as well check if your fuel pump is pumping. Once you're sure you've got those 3, then start looking at timing. Unless you're EFI. Then there may be something up with that, and I'm no help there
  3. It's the dial that isn't functional though, which I don't think moves anything under the hood
  4. And is the tank breather the second tube that comes off of the fork right before the top of the fuel filter at the firewall?
  5. Uneducated guess, but I'm guessing you messed up the belt. Battery charge shouldn't matter once running, unless your alternator is bunk. Check to make sure your plug wires are in correct order as well. I've never really messed with timing stuff though, so take this with a grain of salt
  6. It can judge whether it needs to be choked or not by itself? Sweet. I thought I had to dig through the harness to find it.
  7. IS the vac line to the disty what comes off the front of the carb? And where's the choke wire? Is it in those wires connected to the oil sender?
  8. Made my new bumper, painted and on (no pics, broke my phone in the process). Stripped some crap out of the engine bay. Set the fuel pump up with a key, weberized  Header is coming tommorow, and once I get a new throttle cable, I'll just need to weld the rear bumper mounts back on, and make that bumper, and then we'll be in business
  9. I thought you waned it up, so the chance of hydrolock was decreased because the amount of water per cycle would be decreased
  10. So now that my brat is becoming more and more done, I'm getting ready to tackle the heat. Well, lack of it. When I turn the dial absolutely nothing happens. I deleted the a/c, but it wasn't working before that anyway. Where should I start my chase for the fix of the problem? Down the rabbit hole I go.....
  11. Use a spray bottle, that way the water is already atomized, and is much easier for the engine to "digest"
  12. I've been using it, but its ea82, I'm 81
  13. Just got my weber today and installed it. Well, kinda. I have the fuel in connected, and that's all. 1. Which out of these vales are my pcv, and can I plug the other? pic 2. What out of these tubes do I need? No egr or asv pic 3. What do I connect to this outlet and where do I get my electric choke wire from? pic Edit- BB code
  14. Where do you guys get studs? I'm hopefully about to do something 6 lug, and the stud price and the fact that I can't swap to my 13s if I get autoX tires are the main things keeping me from it. But mainly the studs, where I'm able to find them ($35 for 4), I cant afford that at all right now
  15. I wanna do somethin like this eventually For the front, I was thinking just recreating the stock one out of much more strudy material, like some 2x2 thick wall, and working in the radius rods. I'm guessing a ej 5 lug swap would be needed for strength. Axles would be a pita. Rear would be harder, Especially since I have a torsion bar. Would just replacing the tortion bar with some hard tubing, and then recreating the rear with the same stuff as the front, and then some nice struts all around. Other ideas and input would be amazing. Need some ideas
  16. You could just get an 4wd, get a stub balanced, and just run that. Tunnel issues might happen though, I dunno
  17. Try hitting your terminals. Mine does this, and that normally fixes her
  18. New to subies - Building multiple 818s. Something doesn't quite add up.... J/k that thing is beautiful. I agree with dan, we need more pics
  19. I wanna rent a car hauling trailer and go there and bring back a fleet.
  20. And there's the flyguys running them at super high compression at 7k+ for hours and hours
  21. 99 legacy gt 3 inch lift probably gets 19 ish. I drive like a hoon though
  22. Will post more when I get home Pic: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B44JjK5C_rtDb0ttckhtS0hHUWc/view?usp=sharing
  23. I've got some hugely flared fenders for 1st gen brats, can post pics if interested
