  1. I tried my best to help out. Sorry about getting it wrong. (Not trying to be passive agressive or sarcastic). Will edit my post. I'd be quite appreciative if you could get a thread just about this going, my ea81 is being a pain and my wiring harness was chopped to bits by the previous owner.
  2. Took my brat out today for the first time and when I floored it to do a doughnut and let off. After I let off everything just stopped. When I tried to crank it all that happens is an intermittent pop, which would stop when I hit the gas. Any ideas? I was having problems like this almost the entire time, but it would always start up. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. Currently in the process of pulling my diff to weld it, and I removed the driveshaft and oil came pouring out. Didn't know if this is supposed to happen? Didn't happen on my impreza when I did the clutch
  4. Check the wiring at the fuel pump, that was my problem, the connections were dirty
  5. appears to be lumby bc canada. Everyone in this thread is close I think
  6. Holy crap.... Only idea I have is to cut a slot in it, perfectly across, put some sheet metal or a screwdriver in, and twist.
  7. Grab a 6 sided socket, you'll never have that problem again
  8. Get a long piece of tube and pulllll
  9. EJ turbo? You're in for a lot more than I think you expect.
  10. I've got a crapton of spares, pm me your address and I'll send you some! This is for where it connects to the engine (ea81), correct?
  11. Do you drop the front subframe?
  12. 81-87 Taurus disty, weber 32/36 carby. Custom work will have to be done. Will only work if you have an older ej22, with the notched cam, check on the rear of the passenger side, there should be a little grommet that you can take off and check. It's gonna be a pita, but that's what I'm gonna do as my wiring harness is in bits from the last owner. I have some answers if you have some questions. I think monstaru might have done this before EDIT: I was quite wrong, see monstarus post below for correct info
  13. What do I need to do for a 4 inch lift to the steering shaft, shifter, and 4wd selector? Can I just take off my current steering linkage cut it in half and weld in some pipe? I'm doing 4 lift blocks all the way around, and then 4 inch strut spacers as well, with the offset. (I figure that will correct the front struts because if you don't you wouldn't get the lift and your cv axles would be pointing to the sky? Currently have a rather sketchy 2 inch lift in and would like to fix that. For the shifter do I just need to make it longer? and the 4wd selector is the one that's confusing me the most. Thanks
  14. Why not just cut off the head of the bolt, and slide it out the side with no threads..?
  15. Vise grips, pb blaster (maybe, I've never done that so i don't know where it could end up), and yes, throw that bolt out, and re-tap the hole thoroughly. Is the engine out of the car? If not try taking it out and playing with the bolt
  16. Previous owner hacked the wiring harness so shreds. Ended up unplugging something and it worked.
  17. Good ol 13 inch 4x140s which I'm assuming are what you don't want
  18. I hit a curb in my miata, so from the side the rim wasn't a perfect curve, it was flat. Also ruined the lca and tie rod. Any chance you're willing to sell those if you end up buying something else? I only offroad so balancing is no issue
  19. Except if the previous owner decided to weld the damn exhaust pipe straight to the engine.
  20. Take it to discount tire if you can, they'll be able to sell you. But from my experience, yes a bent rim will drive funny, but it was flattened, not curved
  21. Any chance you'd sell them to me? I have completely broken shocks, but can't quite put up full price. Gotta save up for the welding supplies. It's offroad only so a little rumble won't kill me
  22. I have a 4mt dr for a 87 brat (4wd) that I'm trying to get rid of. Need a way to test if it works though...
  23. So the title pretty much says it all, can't get my brat's interior lighting to work besides the dome. Would very much like to have that, what are the main wires for that? Also, my heating doesn't work, but I don't have my ac compressor connected, don't know if that's the problem or not. Anything helps Thanks
  24. What kind of upper mounts do those have? the normal ea81/82 "bowtie" like thing?
