I was thinking for the front and rear mounting points, just use a Hassey lift style block to go to the mounting points, and in the middle some tubing on the frame rail, with a body mount on each side. I'm decently confident in my welding, especially on the frame (my uncle left his welder here while he's at college/in Antarctica, it's a really nice millermatic). My main reasons for this are easier solid axles, and to someday but in a bbc/4b, definitely can't put a 4bt in a brat on unibody

How hard would this be? Thinking sammy. Also, want to use a impreza engine/tranny, is there any way I can put the ecu in a box? Like no harness merging. I'm hoping to avoid welding into the frame of the brat as much as possible, as the subframe behind the fuel filler neck is completely rusted out. Just wondering if this is on the side of do not try unless a journeyman welder/fabricator or just a long process

So.. This has been an issue for a while, i thought replacing the u joints would fix it, not the case. No matter what, when I go into FWD my car just starts rattling and shaking like something is skipping over gears. ANyone ever had this happen? It seemed to be completely out of the blue. The engine has had this problem since I bought it, when I floor it from idle it will almost die, then come back to life. If in gear it sometimes will actually die. I have replaced plugs, wires, carb and both fuel filters. Any ideas?

Totalled it. Going 55-60 down dirt road hit a puddle, spun, ditch. Airbags went off, frame is bent right in front of the engine subframe. So now I'm taking apart the front end, snorkel, weld the rear and maybe center diff, and gonna go beat the piss out of it at the trails. Sad day, but she's not done. Front end You can see the frame bend there.

So, I just got my derby car. 92 matte black legacy, fwd ej22. Ej22 will go into my impreza, and ej18 into the legacy, because why not That is after I get it running. But now to the title, I need design ideas. The number will be 555. But the paint scheme is where I have debate. My ideas were 1: Keep it 2: WRC colors 3: A tribute to the bumblebeasts, radioactive yellow with the black stripe, as a shoutout to all the help JeZek has given so many of us 4. Fighter jet open mouth with olive drab green This is the car, got it for $200, couldn't not get it. Pic in the p/o driveway. Kid wasn't happy when he found out what I'm using it for, lol Help me design it!

I agree, but my parents pay insurance, so it's up to them sadly -
Brat backfire, and no tach

I wouldn't doubt that. Wires I installed caught on fire the other week and fixed some electrical problems. Will check it tomorrow -

Almost there. Ball joints u joints and tie rods, windshield, and figure out turn signals, and get the engine running right. Probably been at least 200 hours already. Deadline is the end of this month, lol. -
Been having bad backfires with my weber, and the car will almost die if floored from idle. This causes the car to be gutless in anything besides 4wd lo. Video: Good parts are 0:00-0:30 1:20-1:30 and then 2:00 to the end. The shot of the shifter is me going into 4wd hi, after that it dies, but I think that's partly because my u joints are crap. Bonus shots of the luscious interior. As you can see my tach is broken. Can you guys please post pics of how your tach is wired to the engine? I have this plug, which is in a sheath with the shiny connector beneath it.

This thread is making me feel bad about my brat. Driven it 23.3 miles in the almost 3 years I've owned it
