  1. gbhrps, Isn't that a 95 which is a non-interference motor? Hard to strike pistons with valves if it is a 95.
  2. I am not sure. The shop that does all my work told me there was a big puddle under the motor today. What else are you thinking..not HG?
  3. It has a timing chain. when it was last done is an unknown. Just bought it about a month ago.
  4. I have a LL Bean with a leaky water pump. While I am in there puttin gin the water pump, any advice on what else to do while the front cover is off? The car has 242k on the clock and runs well.
  5. The 170 code is a general fuel delivery code that the computer hasn't determined whether its too lean or too rich. It could be either. A number of factors determine the fuel trim. It is a code that sets after the computer sees a problem over a period of time. DTC P0139 — O2 SENSOR CIRCUIT SLOW RESPONSE (BANK 1 SENSOR 2) Usually the cause of P0130 is a bad oxygen sensor, however this isn't always the case. If your o2 sensors haven't been replaced and they are old, it's a good bet that the sensor is the problem. But, It could be caused by any of the following: Water or corrosion in the connector Loose terminals in the connector Wiring burnt on exhaust components Open or short in the wiring due to rubbing on engine components Holes in exhaust allowing unmetered oxygen into exhaust system Un-metered vacuum leak at the engine Bad o2 sensor Bad PCM
  6. It might be cheaper to get one on car-part.com That way, you don't have the labor to take it off a donor.
  7. I just did the drill tap on a non-egr left head to as the motor was out of the car. It was not hard at all and it is back to factory. The workaround is not bad either where you reroute the EGR. The tap was a 20mx1.5 and was about $22.00 on amazon.
  8. I have several if you need one. Can ship if you pay via paypal or you can get one local probably.
  9. To wrap up this thread for others: Per wtdash You see THIS? I'd see if it'd work on your newer model. Saves a lot of work. Per 86bratman The workaround will work, I've done it before. But if you want to make it oem the thread is m20x1.5 for the phase 2 egr bung. Per ocei77 The posted workaround works, but there is a simpler way. Cut the egr tube in half, rotate it 90 deg. facing pass side. Take the iac hose and the cut egr to auto store and get a foot of the size that fits it. There is another fitting that will go over it that will make a tight fit into the iac hose.(not sure of size) If you don't have another iac hose around get a foot of 3/4" ID hose of any type. Get a 3/4" T barb. Plastic is fine Hose clamps is all else you need. Lay it out as you install it so that you cut the iac hose in the right places. Will post pics as soon as I get to the car that the mod is on.
  10. That is an awesome workaround. I have to look at how it would work for the 2003 2.5 I have.. My motor is out of the car and the head that was original is bad, so the tap is not hard with the head out of the car.
  11. Does anybody have the drill bit and tap sizes for an EGR port for a 2003 2.5 left head? Caboobaroo mentioned he had it, but he has been off line for a couple of days. Have the head and need it ASAP. I will take pictures and post this once I have the proper drill bit size and tap size for people in need of this in the future.
  12. Does anyone know which heads from other years or models are compatible with this motor? Left head with EGR 2.5 automatic- shouldn't matter
