  1. says retroroo permanently closed per the web. another person recommended subiesmith in Lakewood.
  2. A friend of mine is looking to get her 09 Subaru outback turbo stick with a 2.5 that has a bad block replaced with a good one? Anyone have a good recommendation for a good friend of mine?
  3. I always buy 4 when possible in a situation like that. Cheaper that fixing a trans/drive train problem. my 2 cents
  4. I prefer the interior quality, fit and finish as well as engine and drive train on the 00-04 version. If it is a Texas car and not in the salt belt like us, I would go that path.
  5. I am in the process of doing a 95 2.2 into a 1970 bug. I bought two 95's so I could get some duplicate parts as they were both cheap cars. Sold one engine to a friend who really needed it, but kept all the rest. In about a month the vw comes out and the fresh 2.2 with shortened oil pan and reverse throttle goes in. looks like a guy on car-parts.com not far form you has a 95 engine and maybe the whole car yet. good luck!! 1995 Engine Assembly Subaru Legacy (2.2L, VIN 6, 6th digit)-0MI 0 A B79 $Call John Meyer Truck and Foreign Salvage, Inc. 6. I like that vintage of Subie and have had quite of few of them in that range. I think that i s a bit rich for a 17 year old car. Run edmunds and kelly for your zip code and the features on the car and go form there. I agree market in general is lower than 4k especially now.

The have decent you tubes on where they are and replacement. Don't buy a new one, get on off car-parts.com Does your cruise control work?
  8. the front doors transfer, the rear do not. the glass and profile are not exact.
  9. blinker switch, fan motor, wiper assembly, computer, axles, control arms, jack and misc parts for that, tail lights, headlights, bulbs from dash, calipers if they are decent, struts if they are good and you are feeling ambitious. The hood and fenders. Door mirror and rear view mirror is it has a built in compass etc. visors and door switches. I use all of this stuff on a regular basis as well of the stuff the other folks have mentioned. Doors don't go that well and take up space, but if it is getting scrapped, keep the door cards. my 2 cents
  10. Take a hard look at the picture Rampage posted. It is most appropriate for your situation and is really the answer to your question.
  11. i like to buy versus lease, but that is just me. You can also look for the parts you need on car-part.com. Look for the part you need in the same color and you can avoid the paint cost.
  12. if it is using up 1 qt of oil per 100, you should go to a dealer and have them do an oil consumption test. I think that yours might be on the list. I still think you need to check for fuel pressure. it could be a clogged filer, bad fuel regulator or fuel pump. Lack of fuel can cause these symptoms.
  13. I have a 2014 3.6 and it has been a really good driving/running machine. change the oil, 1 airbag recall and that is about it other than the normal brakes, tires, engine oil trans fluid changes.
  14. I have had those types of check engine lights and one was the coil, the second was the fuel pump, the third on an h6 2003 was a fuel regulator. On the 03, there were two I believe, and the one that was offending gave rough running and CE cylinder misfire on that side of the engine. If both are bad or if there is only one on the 14, then that could be it. Very unlikely it is the coil as they are all individual and all are sending CE which would be very rare. It really sounds like a fuel pump/filter/regulator kind of thing.
  15. I was thinking fuel pump or filter as well. What type of plugs did you use? It wasn't setting check engine lights before the spark plug change correct? This isn't one of those flood cars is it?
  16. This might be too big, but you can try 3M 08620 window weld 1/4 round. I used it on a sedan that had leaky rear taillights. Water would come into the trunk. I used this and the water stopped. Stays soft for quite a while too.
