Here's my story. Just bought a 96 OB with 150,000 miles. The previous owner experience an initial overheat. The local garage determined it was a a radiator problem and replaced it. She had another episode and had it towed back to the garage. They told the previous owner it was a classic head gasket problem and she decided to call it quits.
I bought it at an affordable price assumming it was a head gasket problem as well. When I arrived to pick up the car, I noticed that the radiator was low so I filled it up slowly with 50/50 fliud. I noticed that the radiator cap was broken. I bought a new cap, filled up the radiator and test drove it. No overheat in 25 miles and it seems to run pretty good.
There are few bubbles coming from the expansion tank though at idle. Could that be because there might be air trapped in the radiator from the recent fill, or am I still going to need to do a HG job? Opinions....ideas apprciated.
