  1. nope double checked that, that's not the problem everything accessory related was working fine until i got the alternator wired up properly EDIT:(might not have alternator fixed yet)
  2. on my swap i took the harness off of the push button transmission and plugged it into the switches on the dual range, the 4wd light works fine i just don't have a low range light.
  3. I had the voltage regulator and the charge light wires mixed up So now its not reading 18 volts but now all the accessories( lights, turn signals, heater fan, etc) work regardless of the key position even if the key is not in and the parking brake light stays on at all times. EDIT:(never mind not sure if i really fixed it yet)
  4. at the battery it reads a 18 volts, could my wiring be mixed up or is it another alternator in which case Napa keeps giving me bad alternators also when the alternator is plugged in there is a noticeable whistle
  5. i believe so, it reads 18 volts at the battery when the alternator is plugged in and around 12.4 when its not.
  6. Got the alternator and the battery is good although its still sending 18 volts to the battery. I am guessing its the wiring Do you guys know where the 3 wires coming out of the alternator go? I am still very inexperienced in wiring so i wouldn't be surprised if i made a mistake somewhere.
  7. I had the alternator tested today... it was bad, luckily they had another one.....also bad, so tomorrow i will be picking up another one if that doesn't fix it i will move on to the battery
  8. this is a new swap, out of a manual 92 legacy it does run but very poorly unless the alternator is unplugged. the alternator is brand new so i cant imagine it has already gone bad
  9. you guys are right there is spark in all cylinders but only after I unplug the alternator, also when the alternator is plugged in a fusible link in the black box next to the coolant recovery tank starts smoking. could this be a ground issue or a bad alternator? I just replaced the alternator a few weeks ago because the old one was overcharging. also when the alternator is plugged in and the car is running the voltage gauge is well above 18 volts
  10. i just bought a brand new coil, decided to put in new spark plugs today looks like cylinder 1 and 2 are flooded but not 3 and 4. the plug wires seem to all be good because i switched them around without any change. the igniter worked fine when i took it out of the legacy. although i have noticed it has a surging idle when starting up and after giving it gas
  11. cylinders 3 and 4 are sparking the car starts but only runs on those two cylinders. cylinder 1 has a very weak spark, cylinder 2 has no spark at all, i just put a new coil-pack in yet nothing changed the spark plugs and wires are fairly new any help is much appreciated
  12. how many times does this usually take, I have done it quite a few times without luck
  13. all 4 spark plugs are drenched in fuel
  14. got the fuel pump to send fuel while cranking and i have spark yet it is not starting. was running fine 2 days ago
  15. ok so pump is now priming when i have the key turned to start, but when i am cranking the fuel pump is not sending fuel. I am not sure if it should be also it smells very rich when cranking
  16. This is probably a stupid question but..... I just about finished the ej22 swap into my loyale everything was going smoothly until my fuel pump stopped working again. the relay clicks when turned to start like it should but the fuel pump is not priming anymore. will i be needing to replace the fuel pump or is it more of a wiring issue? also i do have spark so i don't think its an ecu issue. any help would be greatly appreciated
  17. this is for an ej22 swap, the bulb worked fine with the ea82. i got my harness from SJR. and there is a wire labeled check engine. so i'm just trying to find out which wire on the ea82 harness is the one that goes to the check engine light. it appears that the check engine, stop lamp, and brake fluid lights all connect to a single plug. before i start cutting each wire to find out which one is the right one i was hoping someone knew the correct wire for the check engine light. if pin 2 is one that goes into the ea82 computer then i don't know there is just the blue and red wire that goes into the plug then into the computer the plug that comes from the check engine light however has different colored wires on each side, none of which are blue and red.
