so i have been working on my 88 subaru gl-10 its got the ea82t in it done the head gaskets put it all back together and she purs like a kitten engine is very smooth no shaking when idles its perfect high revs just fine but when i put it in gear and put a load on it and drive all my power goes away and tops out at 15 mph i have checked the timing and rechecked a set it about 5 more times after that and im sure its dead on even my rotor is set to cylinder 1 on tdc im looking for possible problems that would starve it for power maybe egr valve? oxygen sensor im not sure would love to hear some feedback thanks guys keep in mind this car sat in the weather for 9 years never ran till i got it

found the problem kerandt was right rocker arm came out after the motor sitting for almost 10 years spring was sticky very slow return after cleaning it out and manual crank spins to slow bump start she works great again and another rocker arm tried coming out due to same reasons but stayed in slightly crooked holding valve slightly open but all is fixed thanks for the replies guys

So I did a head gaskets new seals had heads machined and checked for cracks ohh and block put everything back together and it started right up timing is dead on engine shakes more than usual motor mounts are new can't achieve over 3500rpm does not idle smooth tomorrow I'm gonna get my compression Guage back and hopefully that might tell me something any ideas would be helpful

Well crap I figured out the problem and it started right up I had wire 2 and 4 mixed up on the cap the top of the cap is numbered and wrong

So I have redone the timing on my 88 subaru gl-10 like 10 time thinking I have done something wrong I followed miles fox tutorial to the T and when I try to start it it turns over for a few seconds then to almost a dead stop then turns over again I did not pull the distributor out and it seems to line up after the whole timing procedure I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and mind you I just changed head gaskets and seals so any ideas?
