  1. anybody have a pic of one with the fan & stuff in it? my brat had duals when I bought it, never saw one with manual fan. does it really take up 10 hp?
  2. bump?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  3. 84 Brat - Su-Brute. self explanatory! 91 astro van - Bupmobile. "bup" was on the lisence plate, this was the one that burnt up in front of a chinese restraunt 86 ford ranger - stank rump roast. it reeks like B.O. or something, enough to give you a headache sometimes - seriously 98RS - black beauty. beautiful car
  4. my family has had some rust stories too, like the van, the exhaust rusted off midway through, even ideling it sounded way too loud, driving produced a helluva roar. the van eventually burnt up in the parking lot of a chinese food restraunt - at 147,000 miles. thats american made cars for ya. xt - I forget what rusted but it made the rear right wheel tilt at almost a 35 degree angle inwards.
  5. ok then, how much room is in the front with a 2.2 in it? this adaptor moves it up only an 1/2" to 1 inch? "Adapter-- Much much easier than I thought. I went to the local aluminium supplier, told him what I was building and he hooked me up with some BEAUTIFUL aluminium. The spacer should be 10 to 11mm, and the aluminium 1/2" thick, about 12.7mm. The difference in thickness is about 2.0mm. I don't see any problems. The adapter is already cut out. Making template and cutting out adapter, about 5 hours." is the adaptor replacing the spacer or are they both going on together?
  6. What about the clearence problems up front caused by the adaptor? remember this is going in a Brat.
  7. I don't know how long it would take, but you would have to make mounts for the engine tranny and rear diff. and hook up the ecu, adapt misc. stuff - probabaly a long time to do it. use turbo coupe axles for the front, read it in another post. (for legacy tranny)
  8. now that I think about it it can handle the power, the guys on this board with modded ea82 turbos have more power than ej22's and are rough on them, no complaints about trannys breaking, xt6 engine is 145hp - 15 more than the ej. turbo could be another story though... so it looks like this is best: ej22 ea82 clutch, modded flywheel, bellhousing mounted with adaptor ea82 tranny It was said that the added length of the adaptor may cause clearance problems? anybody know? more questions to come
  9. does the above setup use the ej22 flywheel and clutch? also subafreak, how does the ea82 tranny take the power? can you drop the clutch and not break it? see, this is what I want to do: ej22 engine whatever flywheel/clutch/adaptor combo that works best and fits best with the least amount of fabrication ea82 5speed dual-range transmission in an 84 bratGL what do you think is best? -AK
  10. same q. as above for me, I want to keep my dual-range too.
  11. xt's are a newer design, also I think they are a little larger, no real facts behind this, except the newer design part.
  12. yea, anything is fixable, just depends.
  13. that decal is awesome, I have never seen one like that before! on a sadder note, that looks like way too bad to be worth saving, sorry. welcome to the Brat club. -AK
  14. yep, 85 was the last year, mine is an 84, the best year for the brat:D
  15. I would recomend a 1984 Gl hatchback or wagon with 4spd. manual and dual-range transmission, lift it, put 25-27's on it and have fun, carry around the family too. good times, -AK
  16. my brat is pretty much stock and I can get it to do 85+ only after a fairly long straight stretch, and flooring it. I think it's top speed is 90 at most.
  17. That thing is gonna give my brat tire-envy:D prob. some ricer boys are gonna walk by and think mine is a low-rider:D Awesome -AK
  18. amazon.com link Just scroll down to read a review. -AK
  19. Heresy! Heresy I tell you, moderators, arrange the inquisition! Beachbum, we will decide your fate soon enough! Just kidding:D I don't know for sure, but probabaly a 2WD EA81 auto car crossmember will match, I don't know much about the automatic stuff
  20. And what about getting this thread moved back to the old generation forum?, I think this move is kiling us.
