Okay. Thanks. I just found it online and it said a loyale engine would be a direct fit. Glad I checked. I really want a wagon anyways, but my subie has a lot of body damage.
-
And its an 86 xt
-
The xt has no engine now. I'm going to put my 92 Loyale engine into it.
-
I have a 2wd 3sp auto loyale and I'm thinking about picking up an xt and doing an engine swap. What differences will there be between my ea82 and one for a 5sp manual with push button 4wd? Just need to decide if its worth it to pick up this body because mine is messed up.
-
It isn't a hose. Mine are new with a new water pump. The gasket I think just went.
-
I actually figured it out. My over flow tank over flowed and dripped down through the engine compartment. It was a mix of stop leak and coolant.
-
I had a bit of a collant leak so I decided to be cheap and use the easy fix... stop leak! So far it appears that my problem isn't and I'm leaking other stuff now too. I've got an oil drip I didn't have (or at least didn't notice) and another unknown substance. Its thick and slippery and tan (maybe stop leak?) But its dripping from the driver side just behind the tire. My car is running fine. Keeping a good temp and its smooth too. Any ideas?

I need a new body but my trans has like 2k miles on it. It was JUST rebuilt. I'm finding way more 4wd Subies than 2wd, which is not surprising. I want to find a subie needing a trans and put mine in.
-
I'm getting mixed signals here... basically my 2wd trans will go on anything buy if I had a 4wd trans and wanted to put it in a 2wd it'd be a pain?
-
I have a Loyale with a good trans but a bad body due to a crash. I want to get a new body to move my trans into but I have a 2wd automatic. If I find a 4wd automatic, will I be able to use my transmission still? I'm fuzzy on the differences on how they connect.

Automatic Sorry for the delay, didn't see replies before.

I got a ticket going 90 in my 3 speed auto and my rpms were only at like 5k. And I was going uphill. I think somebody needs to check their trans. -
I have a Loyale sedan and I was parked at work today when a pretty distinguishable vehicle parked by mine. It was a GL wagon. White, lifted, with a snorkle. Pretty darn dirty. They got out and took a bunch of pics of my car. Anybody know them? It has an Oregon plate.

92 Loyale Battled a Camry :(

I haven't updated in a bit, but I got her going and got everything fixed. The check engine light was on but I'm not sure why. I even did a voluntary emissions check and passed so I'm just gonna disconnect the light. But the red loctite I used to hold my crank shaft bolt right has given up and backed out. Uuuuggggghhhhhhh I guess I'll get it properly torqued this time. -
This is obviously somewhat past, but I used red loctite on mine and it came loose again. It took a couple months and a thousand miles but one decent overheat and that red loctite broke free. Side note, always double check your radiator cap after topping off your antifreeze. Mine didn't QUITE seal :/

And in a fun turn of events, my radiator hose just sprung a leak. I just need boatloads of duct tape. -

It keeps the electric fan on and just pumps in warm air. Worked great til I got too warm bundled up for winter lol -

Thats the plan. I've kept it cool enough just not as cool as I would like. I'm hoping to do it this weekend or before. -

The head gasket is fine. The water pump seal is messed up. -

Will it hurt the ac at all to run if it has no freon? If not, I don't need cold air, just the ac to run to make the fan go until I figure out why it isn't kicking on. -

I'm sure the electric one comes on sometimes, cuz the temp will drop back down sometimes but not always. I haven't put my new thermostat in yet, so maybe this one is bad and that's why the fan isn't coming on. I saw that it'll run constantly if my ac is on, but I don't have any freon now. -

Well, my water pump has a bad seal, I guess. Its leaking and not from the weep hole. Unfortunately, I'm also running HOT. Its only 30ish degrees and the 10 minute drive to work almost overheats my car. I'm not sure if this is because the water pump is leaking or because I ended up taking the pump fan out to accommodate the radiator. I'm hoping that once the seal is fixed it won't overheat, but does anyone have any cooling suggestions since I had to remove that fan? The electric one is still in but it doesn't seem to be enough.
