Would anyone know how to bypass the governor gear on a 3AT?? Mine keeps apple coring the ones i put in, i dont want to replace the transmission, i just want not to have to worry about the governor gear anymore.
-
I have an original turbo brat and I want to keep it all original, the automatic transmission that's in it keeps stripping out the governor gear, the gear lasts for about 1,000 miles and then strips. I have a auto trans from a ea82. I had in my leone. I was hoping it was just a direct swap.

Can I swap an automatic trans from an ea82 to a ea81. Are they the same

I did all the same things as you . I replaced all the mounts, noise was still there. I tried everything . I didn't want to believe it was the bearings. After replacing a lot of unnecessary things. I just went for the thing I knew it was. I listened to both of your videos. I am 90% sure it's your bearings. If you can listen to your motor while it's running see if the knocking is coming from the bottom of the motor, lay down and focus on the oil pan. I'm pretty sure your going to see that the noise will be generating from there. I have a 1983 brat . And a 1985 Leone both are turbo motors, same as the one you have in your car .look up on YouTube " what does a spun bearing sound like " you will hear your noise

Much needed -
Would anyone have a harness for a knock sensor? My car is a 1985 GL ( leone ) EA82T 1.8. It's the 2 pin connector . I really need one bad. Please someone help me.

I rebuilt a ea82t and I replaced all the vacuum lines and there are some small restrictors in some of the lines. I can't remember where they go. It would be a big help if someone knew where they went. The car is a 1985 Leone GL ea82t FI. I rebuilt the motor after a blown head gasket. I put an intercooler, oil cooler, a mishimoto 2 row aluminum radiator, a trans fluid cooler, deleted the belt driven fan for 2 Electric fans. New Pistons +.020 over, new gen 3 heads. Much more was done but my problem is the car runs great except when I get on the gas the car bogs down. I have a vacuum problem and I can only think about those restrictors in the vacuum lines. If anyone has something else I should check, any input would be greatly appreciated . I can't figure out how to post pics here but I have photobucket. My 1983 brat is what this motor is for http://s280.photobucket.com/user/lovemyson1/library/brat

Fuel injected

I can't figure out how to just post a pic, but here is a link to photobucket. This thing is on the wiring harness for the injectors. Can someone tell me what it is. It's off of a ea82 turbo 1.8 http://s280.photobucket.com/user/lovemyson1/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/1205F4C5-9521-436D-A6E4-90727F50B23A_zps0vna7kkf.jpg.html

fuel problems 1985 gl(leone)

Disty is pointing toward firewall, I kept thinking I was doing the belt wrong, I took the left valve cover off to make sure I was on the compression stroke, timing light firing on 8 degrees BTDC, all along it was the injectors not getting power , I'm at a loss for what to check next -

I put a test light on one of the injectors. when I grounded the test light the light lit up. when I put the test light on pos and cranked the motor there was no light.I checked the ground on the right side valve cover one wire went to the frame and one went to the coil bracket and in the line is some type of resistor, I grounded the resistor to the bracket bolt but im not sure if it came off the pos or neg side of coil, can you help -
I have a 1985 gl leone 1.8 turbo FI. My timing belt broke. I replaced timing belt and now there is no fuel getting to the plugs, there is fuel getting passed the filter in the engine compartment. I sprayed starting fluid in the air intake and it started kicking. so my question is what would stop the gas from getting to the plugs. everything was fine until the timing belt problem.

Ea82 compression stroke
Nowhereman replied to Nowhereman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It does help, I'll just have to watch the valves on both sides and watch firing order, I have litterally done the whole belt procedure 5 times now, I can recite miles fox video on YouTube as I watch it word for word, and I can't get this thing to fire, I got fuel, I got spark, 150 Pound of compression in all cylinders, timing light says firing on 8 degrees BTDC, I bought new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, new distributor, new battery, checked all fuses and fuseabel links. It has to be firing order, I'm going to just watch the valves and adjust from there -
Ea82 compression stroke
Nowhereman replied to Nowhereman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I shouldn't say stroke, it's the cam dot, when it comes to 12:00 you can rotate it again 360 degrees and the valves will be in a different position on the right side -
I replaced timing belts, took off valve cover on left pass side, I'm at TDC on the compression stroke, valves are closed. My question is, on the right side of the motor when you bring the dot to 12:00, how do you know if your on the right stroke for that side

There is also a quick seen in " napoleon dynamite " where the owner of the do-Jo drives home in a brat
