um i wouldnt spend the money on the tracker...... its basicaly a subaru without the subaru advantages... what you want is a cheep 4x4 toyota pickup. or subaru hatch. dont bother with the 85-89 subys. unless there a hatch. if you build a hatch. do this follow what zap and eric do with theres not shure off all the mods but i know its LSD-(or welded) welded is much better and cheep an AUZ lift From PK, trust me i would only spend my money on a pk lift... and ive built 2 lifts from scratch and had a pk lift. then get some little swampers.... thats the cheep and probably best way... if you do a toy pickup. do this buy a solid axle toy. put the rear springs in the front.(you will have to fab a longer front driveline. easy if you have a welder) more on that if you need use dubble mazda springs in the rear. no need for new drivline only move the front hangers forward... and buy 3 subys worth of tires(38x14.5 sx's ) and you will have a toy with 3 feet or so of travil and will be able to go in snow real snow... anyway think about what you like to do....... personaly i would do the hatch. because i like to rally the loging roads and whatnot. ive had both(87 dr 5speed 27in mudtireds subaru, and a toy like the one i described... and i like the subaru beacuse i like to go fast. .... anyway before it gets longer....... grate luck and either way you decide to go let us know i like seing pix and what not.......

hi, sounds like an awsome project... as for being an ej25tt, i might be wrong but it will be a EJ20tt.(which is a very proven powerplant) they ej25turbo is a relitivly new powerplant. the tt powerplant and trany should work fine. the only thing is if you car is left hand drive the second turbo will sit right where you stearing shaft is. if you have a RHD then you will be ok....... the only other thing is your car should be a cable operated clutch and the tt car should be a hydrolic clutch. but if you getting a front clip you should have everything to make it work.... good luck and keep us uptodate

ER27TT Engine Color Scheme HELP!
tailgatewagon replied to Gravityman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i would keep it simple nothing looks better then a very classy engine bay. not a ricer engine bay.. here is what i would do.. engine bay one collor(blue, white, black motor. blue whit or black.. then i would do the turbos in pollished aluminum and the intake (maf side) in the same or carbin fiber.... dont use to many collors or it will look realy buiss and will suck. on mine im doing mine (engine compartment in dark grey,, motor will be white... -
what do you think......
tailgatewagon replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
i thought the same thing.... fuggly and awsome..... i think im going to do it.... ive got an uncle thats a body shope guy (teaches it acualy) and they repair cars that involve cutting the unibody like this for class(then they pass it through Californa state inspection) anyway he showed me how to do it... so if the time is right this winter. it may happen.... id also like to put on some fender flairs and 15in pugs.... -

-
um i hope i didnt miss lead you. the ej22 and the ej18 are the same width i think, you will need to notch the frame a bit like 1/2 on each side. ill shoot you some pix when i get mine done. looks like it should take about 1hour to do it. anyway keep us updated...

check this item out on ebay. claims the item fits 1997 2.2L vtec acura and also a host of gen 1 subaru! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura-2-2CL-Subaru-1400-1600-Brake-Caliper_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33563QQitemZ8004245275QQrdZ1

i just test fit an ej22 in my 79 wagon, now the ea82t is wider... here are the problems i see, wiring, this is going to be painstakeing long and involved confuising and a mess, but NOT HARD, anyone with time and a FSM can DO it, you will need to moddify the crossmemeber to make room for the turbo up pipe..... you will need to notch the fram(check out garners pix he has some of his) you will need to build a custom rear trany support.( i asuume.) you if i were you i would do this. if you must swap go ej22, because if you do all the maint on it it will be grate once its in...(ea82 not as good) IMHO i would use the LSD out of the rx and the trany. mybe just mate it to an ea81 that was webberd and piped.... that would be relitivly easy and be a sweet setup with minnamel fabbing,,, basicly it can be done and SHOULD be DONE if your of mind to. just think it through so you know what your up against. ...
