  14. try looking at this page. there should be some stuff in there. there is also a post about it in the historic foum if i remeber..... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/subaru80s.html
  15. you want a wagon or a brat? i can probably find either in good conddition. just depends i would think a running one in awsome shape should be around 800-1000 bucks. around here. non running could be anything. . pm your price range and what exactly you want. IE 800. 79 4x4 no rust type of thing.
  16. hum if your going to restore it it might be worth it. or maybe not since you can find them here in MT. seams like it would be worth the time to find one else where and buy it and ship it then to spend the time restoring it. case in point the wagon i just got was 200.00 bucks runs poor and drives awsome. body is in good shape and intior is awsome. thing is i know where a dozen gen1 brats and wagon are within 100 miles of here and there all probably avalible for under 500.00 ea with some free. for parts it may be worth it.
  17. stearing rack huh. like from an outback sport with a 1.8 in it? i think i know where one is. ill check on it tomrrow. let me know what you want to pay and ill see if the guy will sell it for that(still in car) i guess i can pull it for you. anyway let me know.
  18. awsome info. a question did this change the ride height? i guess a coil could be cut off the springs to drop it a bit. ? please pm me a price if your willing for a set of fronts i would just need the struts (no springs) thanks brian i can pick them up also. your in cali right. ill be down that way in a bit.
  19. all the gen 1 brats should be the same, the front crossmember on teh 81 gen 1 brat with the ea81 top mounted start will be differnt. also gen 1 wagons 4x4 will be the same. not shure if 75-76 are the same but should be i think 78 and 79 will be though. if you going to do rear brakes you might want to look into doing rear disks check the hist fourm there is a post about that in there. ;
  20. thats true if i find another one its pauls, or if i sell mine hes first on the list.
  21. there are several ways to do this. if your just trying to clen out the lower end of the motor(everywhere oil gos) put 1/3 to 1/2 can in the oil and then run it for a while to alow to work. if your trying to clean the combustion chamber pull the vac line on the brake boster then pore it in the line, carfull not to flood the motor once it starts smoking good out the exhost then shut the car off(shouldbe done when car is worm) let set a few miniutes and then go out and drive the car it will blow white smoke out (just he sea foam) but will clean everthing up nice. ive heard its kinda hard on o2 sencors so be worned. ive never had problems. this is just the way ive used it read the can and decide from there. ive had good results especialy with older ea82 cars cleaned up the hydro lifter tap about 1/2 of the time...
  22. did you upgrade the fronts also or just the back?? if you did the fronts are you able to use differnt offset tires front and rear(as in later style wheels? ) i guess if you upgraded the fronts then you could do the 5 lug convershion.
  23. what has been done. i think it would be cool to have some anserws for some of these questions and others im not thinking of,, anyone done 5 lug swap. any custom springs custom shocks race setups 4 wheel disk's?(from SubieGuy) I used the everything off the GL-10 wagon. I used the calipers, rotors and, backing plates. I had to grind a notch to clear two bolts. I also had to grind away some material on the backing plate to get it to fit. But after I got that cleared up It all bolted right up to the factory mounting points on the Brat. I still need to go back and do a little touck up welding to add some strength to where I ground away some metal. The grinding cuts out a couple of spot welds that could be strengthened up with a little mig welding. The only thing that I could go back and improve would be the brake lines. The rear discs are a little shorter than the stock drums. So they will work. You just wave to have them out of place compared to the stock set up. You will see once you get in there.
  24. Dang you all. i want a 360 would trade both of my splittailgates for a van i think, (if the wife wouldnt kill me...)ha ha i never thought my wife would want me to keep another subaru...
