hum bet its an 81 whats the prodtion date. if its past 06/80 then its an 81. its rare. anyway . i had a 79 wagon with an ea81 that used that trany as its the only one with the linkage in the front for that anyway sweet deal show us some pix. thanks later.

i have a manual for an ea52(if thats what the 1000 motor was called. ) as for being produced in 1979-1986 i doubt that. the only one ive seen was in a 1972 split tailgate wagon. that went to the crusher because i couldnt get me hands on it quick enough anyway cool pix. btw what car is that motor in the ea65. anyway sweet deal brian

there was a 73 coupe (?sedan?) on the west coast for sale a while ago i think moosens had dibs on it what ever happend to that one? any one know of any other 73-74 2dr around that might want a new home.???

i just took out the pedal box on an 86 wagon for my 5 speed swap into my 4eat wagon. anyway i just droped the stearing wheel and undid the pedal box as i remeber i had to find just the right spot but it came out in about 3 hours total thats for the trans linkages and the pedal box and i took care not to tear up the car they came out of anyway good luck.

i would say hes talking about the pass side cam (the short one) since he said it still runs. and if it was the long one (the distributer (i know i cant spell) anyway it wouldnt run so im betting on the pass side. i also bet when you take it apart you will find a dark streak or other sing of impurity in the metal of the cam where it broke. anyway at least its the cam you can change in the carLOL.. good luck and welcome aboard. brian

look at the subaru on emay xt with alot of mods its also on the fourm here in the market place. looks like it could be your ticket. pluse you will have a parts car for motor stuff.

Kens Hatch was the first lifted subaru i saw(well pix of on the net) ever since i have wanted to lift one. him and Eric and the seatle crew have relly helped the evolution of offroading subarus in north america. anyway here is what they have inspired of me. with some help from others on this board like unhatched and the other 8in lifted subaru on the board. edit<they have helped me with pix i havnt relly talked to any of them in person sept eric and only once.)edit anyway enjoy

try replacing your fuel filter. ive seen many time where people will have carb work done and it turns out to be the fuel filter. you might try checking the timing when its running like crap and see if its variing back and forth just have somone step on the gas and watch what happens with the sputtering. could be a lose wire or a bad fuel pump to i guess.... good luck tailgatewagon

I live in Bozeman MT and am always amazed at the number of subarus. take today. driving down main street i saw in 7 blocks 68 subarus. now thats subarus driving parked and ones on the side streets that i glimpsed. also pulled up next to a rx sedan. then at the next light there was an rx coupe parked for sale. and then an sti (black with big rally mud flaps, the guy also drives a ford escort cossworth the real deal). anyway just thought it was nuts. anyway. funny thing is not many gen one cars. maybe 30 or so ive seen here at all driving. 2 76 wagons a 75 2dr. the rest 78 or 79 wagons. would be a grate place for a subaru meet but everyone in town would show up with 2. lol

had a friend with this problem. we tried torch and then beas wax. = nothing soaking in penitrating oil over night = nothing took it to a machine shop and had them use a big press on it. = broken $200 pickle fork on press and not a bit of movement. hope it works out for you

HI all, Bad New. the people i was going to buy the wheels form for the board. told me as of the middle of last mounth that they had lots of wheels and such. so i went to go pick up 10 sets of them for board members since i got paid i figued i could spot those that were very entersted. when i got there the guy said he had gotten pissed with puegots and had halled all the alloy wheels to seatle to get them for scrap aluminum. the steels he had throun in the cars and crusshed them.... im very sorry guys the guy said he was going to hold them but when i got there they were all gone. btw, the place is called Brax and is in devide montana.
