  1. there is a gen 1 brat here primer gray, a little rust in the fenders but non in the bed. jackmans, low roll bar grant stearing wheel and neet little hood scoop. $750.00 is what the guy is asking oh year runs top notch.
  2. the higher you go the more money you will spend and the more specialized the rig will be come. ie stock subaru. ok offroad. ok on road ok gas milage 3in lift much better off road. not as good on road(as stock) worse milage) 8in lift(porr milage)ok on road. much much better offroad.Tcase mod) so you can see the trade offs. as fare as drive ablitty also the higher you go the more there is to modify 3in lift just the lift 8 in lift you have hubs to re drill, lift to make, tcase +++++ its all relitive. to what you want to do and how much you want to put into it.
  3. well if anything gos amiss near bozeman. let me know ill help. brian
  4. i drove a legacy with shot air suspension. 90miles on dry 2 lane. i wouldnt do it again, i hit a bridge seam that wasnt somthe on a corner and the car jumped a car with wide putting me in the on comeing lane. anyway not safe but duable.
  5. as i understand it only the turing wagon (non turbo ) came with dr 5speed trans in 89
  6. i have an 89 turing wagon with a dual range and SPFI(single point fuel injection)
  7. thanks mick. as for weather they are subaru or aftermarket. i think they are probably an aftermarket wheel sold by SOA. i havnt sean any wheels like them in any broshures but in 72 subaru would have been very new. and the two new wheels that i have are of the same style as the early 74 sport mag as in the bead desing and the sport mag and the two that i have found that are listed ont he wheels page as early subaru wheels are both made in the same place in brazil i doubt that a wheel company would have tryed to make wheels for profit for the new and upstart Japnainise company so i would asume that they are SOA items or at least made for subaru anyway all speculation. brian
  8. check out this new wheel i found, it a early gen 1 wheel i would say between 72-75 anyway i think i like it. i have 3 now to find a third, oh yea best part FREEEEE. http://usmb.net/gallery/tailgatewagons/Image012_001 http://usmb.net/gallery/tailgatewagons/Image013_001
  9. you will notice some gain in power. more likely you will notice a gain in fuel economy. as for power robing, get this a top fuel dragsters supercharger takes 750HP from the motor.
  10. i have 4 rallys that i would part with for 140 shipped. if someone wants to work out a three way deal on this i would be willing to do it. i have pix of the wheels 1 has just a bit of curb rash on one of the beads but its not bent at all and dosnt affect ballence or runing. clear coat is relly in good shape for these old of wheels http://usmb.net/gallery/tailgatewagons?page=2 2 are at the top of the page and 2 are at the bottom of page 2 and top of page 3
  11. there are 2 ea81 wagons running around here in Bozeman MT. that have been brated. one is a 82 one is an 84. they are both cut just behind the B pillar and then they have the rear doors welded. ive only seen the 84 once, but i see the 82 running around all the time. even when its -20F outside real temp. the guy in the 82 says it flexes some but not bad and its cheeper then a brat. (50 bucks is what he has into it.lol
  12. Yes please pray tell what did happen to the U-RX. man it would be sweet to have both of the rx's (to barrow Q-Man's sig) one for the street and one for the woods, or somthing like that. um um
  13. what do you think would happen to performance if i added 3 feet more of exhost pipe before the turbo. or if the turbo were mounted to the head so there was no header??? im talking about performance only not logistics or routing or any of that. thanks brian
  14. you want MPG out of it and keep it a trany put a 2wd 4speed auto in it(if they ever made one), my 4eat turbo wagon pulls 2000 somthing at 75mph. in fact with the cruse on it isnt in the power band at 80mph enough to keep it going in 4th gear.
  15. thanks Rooinater thats what i was thinking. should be to hard and. now all i need are legacy diffs and im ready to start. i will probably start with the 3.9s i have and get the bugs out then just upgrade to the 4.11, btw which subys had the 4.44s anyway thanks a bunch. ill post pics when i get somthing acomplished. brian
  16. sweet so all that needs to be done is to fabricate a mount for the t-case and do just slip them together, as fare as putting the two together. thanks . all imput is greatly apreciated. brian
  17. For those of you who have done the t case mod. i have a couple of questions(or those of you who know) from what ive gathered a nissan 720 transfercase is the ideal. so here is my qusetion how do you mate the two togeter. is it a bolt togher type thing or is it a short drive shaft thing. please if anyone has pix of the process id love to see them. thanks brian
  18. my dad had this problem on a 90 loyal, it keept getting worse till it got to the point that it was using 2 quarts in 50 miles and leaving a huge smoke screen, it would clear up some time but then come back. anyway it turned out to be a broken ring. good luck.

  20. My OEM parts will be OEM ie. subaru parts in subaru bags with subaru part numbers. brand new and NOT NOS. as for quality aftermarket parts ill be very picky as to what i sell. there are lots of places selling crap and i plan on NOT being one of them so what you do you newer generation people want.?? headlights tbelt kits with everything(cam seals, cam oring, crank seal, waterpump seal.)???? i decided to start this buisness to help all the guys with older subarus but as my supplyer has the newer stuff i thought some of you might like to get in on the deal. thanks brian
  21. Well First off thanks for the info as to what you guys need. i also like the idea of making kits out of things heres a short list of what i think is most important ea81 everything(all soft seals and head gaskets) ea82 same thing but broken up into kits more or less tbelt kit(tbelts, camseal kit, oil pump kit front main, waterpump kit(water pump gasket & outlet oring) also clutch kit(clutch disk, pressure plate throwout bearing pilot bearing and rear main seal) also Copper head gaskets also ej22 and up kits(but thats later) as for the wheels ill have to think about that it would probably take several grand to do it right. let me know if you guys come up with anything else WJM lets talk numbers spot12@hotmail.com thanks guys brian (tailgatewagon) (subyguy)
  22. HI all . im starting a subaru parts buisness and while a buisness is there to make money. my main goal is to sell oem and quality parts for close to cost. i think its stupid that if you want an OEM clutch cover (pressur plate) for a subaru gl Turbo you have to pay 138.25 when the cost is aroun 50 bucks. thats a big mark up. anyway there are several things i have to do these are them get the webpage up and going. find out what products you want. and then start. so here is the question what products would you want me to stock please let me know wheather you want oem or genaric and what it fits example anyway thanks for looking please let me know what you think Brian (tailgatewagon)
