  1. this is a pic of a wheel i found its subaru bolt patern and was made in brazil, apears to be of same vintage as 1974 sport mags, just thought there might be some that would like to see it
  2. ill dig up a price list here in the next couple of days. as for sucker king, hay if your in the neighborhood ive got a place you can stay and a drive way to park your subaru in,,,,, seriously let me know if your comeing this way and when it would be cool to shop talk...
  3. as for seals and head gaskets i can get oem ones cheeper then anyone well below dealer retail i just havnt gotten my web page up and going yet. but if you want i can price out an ea71 kit for you. with headgaskets, intakes, exhost, front main, rear main, valvecover, ect and it will all be oem. new stock NOT NOS. anyway let me know if you want me to get cracking on it.
  4. read throught but didnt see anything of course i could have missed it but what about throw out bearing issues. maybe the throwout bearing isnt in right (backwords) or maybe the throwout bearings are differnt between cars? i dont think so but its the onlything else i can think of........
  5. not shure where your at but i know ive seen alot of relly nice gen1 cars like 80-84 brats and wagons hatches and the like for 1-2k i mean relly nice street cars with no trashing, let me put it this way a dealer here in town bought an 82 Dl 4x4 brat that had a new pait job and good running in LA and brought it all the way to Montana and then sold it for ???? 2500 bucks. oh yea 104K on the odometer. as for the loyals 85-94 unless its had headgaskets and tbelts done in the last year or so or a new rad in it i would be very carful they can be a big expense if you buy the wrong one
  6. ill look and see if i can find a distributer thanks for the spelling corrections.
  7. arggggggg very true on the inline 4 cylinder what a dubm fool i am anyway i talked to the guy and he is working on changing his items very cool thanks i also pointed him in the way of the board.
  8. ok for some reason my computer wont let me right click and save as. ? any ideas. could somone email me the video. gearbr@wwc.edu. that would be cool thanks
  9. when your looking for snow tires check out the nokin hanakopalita 1 there awsome tires. i had blizzaks but they were only good on ice then i tried the Hankopalita's and they had very good traction in deep snow and on ice even up to 80mph (i hope you dont drive it that fast ) but if y ou do they will take care of you. i havnt had them anyfaster then that on slick roads so above there its all guess work.
  10. hum my links apear not to be working so try the item numbers that are in the links.
  11. there is somone selling things on ebay. that are miss represented. most of us would catch the errors but i was posting this for the new people on the bord dont want anyone getteing screwd http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=2447384302 lookd at the things that are also availble and you will see he has 1988 legacy stuff for sale??? yea not. this is the other auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38634&item=2447384497 its for a gl, xt, loyal intake. the only thing to say is JUSTY....... anyway keep an eye out.
  12. welcome to the board. one think to keep in mind with your new subi is that heat is the death off almost all subarus (unless the 4x4 gods find it) dont ever over heat it that is a very big issue with the motor you are about to start working on things to think about are going to be a new dubble core rad and new thermostat. if your going to replace the water outlet pipe at the front of the motor might as well replace the water pump and do the seals on the front. im not relly trying to scare you im just trying to throw you a curve now so that when your subaru dos it wont surprise you. oh btw they are grate cars loveem all even the turbos.
  13. just look under the hood of every xt that you find. and see if it has a spider intake on it. it looks like a legacy intake(if you havnt seen one go to a subaru lot and look under the hood) i dont know the differnces of the spiders (non turbo vs turbo) i think one may have mpfi and one spfi. but that is only a guess... as for 87 1/2 xts they are very rare (ive only seen 2) but that dosnt meen there arnt alot around just spread out very thin.
  14. as is my understanding (please correct me if im wrong) that the spider intake was only on the 87 1/2 xt 4turbos. the production date starts at jan of 87 and gos to 6 or so of 87 (remeber that production years start at half years. like 87 started at june of 86) anyway. i belive that in 88 the xt6 came out and so the turbo hipo xt4 died and was replaced by the xt6. so i think there is only half a year with theis intake on it. as for the performace mods.... well if you read about wrx's supras and gtrs that have had thousands thrown into them they seam to leave the compression way down in the 7-8 range and just run more boost..
  15. ill have to work on a title i guesss:D as for the rears mine the car dosnt sag at all it stands as if it had air suspension cranked all the way up but it has regular struts.. is your xt 2wd?
  16. new aquisition. well free relly traded some work for it. anyway no title just a bill of sale and the registration. checked with cops and its not stolen but title seams to be unacuireable. so here is the question.. do i do a swap into my 88 turbo wagon im thinking of doing the complete swap dash motor and wire harness. also dr 5spd. and suspension (the xt has rx suspension) is it better. or shuld i find another xt and make it a 87 1/2??? and yes it has the spider intake on it.
  17. see thats the funny thing the hoses are cold 95 degerees is 100 less then im used to seeing. i guess the water jacket could be pluged hum that would suck.
  18. ok the facts. fresh re seal on the motor. no leaks oil or water dosnt use any water it runs hot 3/4 temp on the freeway at -10 degrees F runs up to almost the red if i slow down(ie stop an go trafic). here is the funny thing new thermostate that is opening. radiator hose on thermo side is 95 degerees 85 on water pump side. thermostat housing is 200 degrees. and raditor is cold. anyone have any ideas could the radiator be pluged therefore not alowing enough flow? but then why is the raditor and rad hoses so cold like the fluid isnt worm?
  19. anyone who gets a tail gate wagon will have all the help from me to keep it running just let me know what you need and i will try and help. i have some gasket sets and a few wheel cylinders for the front .
  20. ill get a lift and that should help with the install we will see when i get the curent project done......
  21. i got a grate deal on an 84 2wd gl-10 sedan. 4dr and i have a parts wagon 83 or so and a dr5spd in my other parts car so here is the question. can i use all the 83 suspensioin and gastank and all and bolt it to the 2wd sedan i know people have done this with wagons and hatches but im unaware of anyone doing it with a sedan?? also i think ill put the dr5 speed in it with the proper flywheel clucht and a custom drive line.. also if anyone needs a 2wd auto trans let me know.out of the 84
  22. there are two starter contacts in the starter, one will usualy ware faster then the other. and willl soner or later leave the other side high and dry. do this pull out your starter. then take the two or three little screws out of the end of the little deal that piggy backs the starter. you should have two L shaped peaces of copper that contact a round peace atached to a plunger that will come out. see if the L shapes are worn un evenly. if so file them down so there the same or buy new ones there 18 bucks from subaru. \ might sound complicated but anyone who can chage a spark plug can do it. i worked in a subaru only shop for a little while 5 mounths or so (but the guy ripped people off so i quit) anyway out of the 35 or so starter problems i saw this was the proble in all but 1 of them...good luck.
  23. check with delta cams in sealte i think the web sight is deltacam.com anyway they make them and have several differnt girdes availble i think they were like 90 bucks a set or somthing and they make ea81 and 71 also along with ej22 and ej25 stuff....
  24. not tbelts, ive seen some motors apart that had 300k on them and the timing gears were still within factory specks.... 145k. boy that motors should have been almost new..
