Aluminum Pullys
tailgatewagon replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok so i got prices.... if i get 100 made.(50 of each ea81 ea82) then they come to about 85 bucks which should cover flat rate shipping in the lower 48,,, this is for a standard pully im not even going to look into underive pullys.... some thing i didnt think about though is ea81t pullys are relly light 1lb14 3/8oz oz ea82s are 1lb 15 1/8oz now some parts are papeer thin and would require the aluminum to be thinker so im not shure if the wight savings would come through with added thinkness..... but im only running one belt, im going to get another qoute for taking our stock steel pullys and shaving the extra grove off..... which should be darn cheep and should make them lighter....... so a summery,, ea81 pullys if i order 50 will be 85ish, and may not weight much less ea82 pullys if i order 50 will be 85 ish and " " " """""""""""""""""""""""" i think i can get the normal pullys cut down for around 15 bucks which would offer a much better bang for the buck,,,, if you want to run power stearing then get an Toyota mr pump there electric and can be swithced on and off..... -

offroad axle braking remedie discusion
tailgatewagon replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Off Road
No thank you,,, ive thought about sending the rear stubs to be heat treated... you could make a steel coller for the rear doj and weld them on and then get them heat treated... but then you will probably start brakeing things in the trany...... i would rather change axles.... axels are easy to rebuild... easy to change and cheep. -

there is a way to take struts apart saftly while in the yard. at least ive done it a bunch of times. anyway i just take the nut on the top of the strut free while everything is still bolted down somtimes the nut gos flying but your protected from the spring (i stand on the other side of the car and lean over the motor) anyway then you take the stut lose....... -

first off nice car... looks to be a repaint looks like a good one. no stickers anywhere makes me think repaint that and the fact that there is no grey on the car and the rx's had grey trim not black. along with the fact that there are no checker seats makes me think it must be a GL-10 optioned out....... which would be cooler in my opionion.... anyway nice looking car. and yes what are the plans.....
