  1. Toyotas are great vehicles!! Those new FJ are pretty nice. They are very capable on the trail also.
  2. I'll just write "Marry x-mas" in the dirt on the back of the car. The candycane over the ant. isn't a bad idea.
  3. Stiffer suspention can handle the rough stuff better. Less bottoming out. Thats always been my thought on it, anyway
  4. I wish!! Remove that 1 and put a 2 there!!
  5. Somewhere on one of these videos its posted that the car is runnung open manifolds and doesn't have a radiator.
  6. Nope, no wreaths for me either. What is the USBM anyway?
  7. OEM is out because of price(dealer wants an arm and a leg) and no one sells exedy clutches around here. I would rather not buy a clutch off the internet because it seems everytime I order somthing off the internet I get the wrong part, so this leaves me with the two options above.
  8. ...kill these cars? They just won't die Watching a few of this dudes videos, he loves to beat the snot out of anything with wheels and an engine.
  9. This dude beats the hell outta this thing until the frame busts in half!! Heres one of it "crawling" You can't kill a 22r!!
  10. Ok, shopping around for a clutch kit, Advanced auto sells a perfection brand kit, oriellys sells fenco/fenwick. Both are new. Is there much of a difference between the 2? I'm not going with autozone's stuff. Duralast crap don't go in my vehicles, as thats all they have to offer.
  11. Nope. Someday, maybe. 91 Loyale, 5 speed singlerange 4wd 185/70/13 tires
  12. This was all on a local trail going up to a fishin hole. Oh yeah, single range only, stock 5 speed Loyale.
  13. Man, folks go into panic mode when if we get just a third of that around here. I think its great. We had half an inch last winter, and people acted as if there was 4 feet out side. I'm problebly the only one in centeral NC who has snow chains in my subaru, or even know what snow chains are! By the way, chains really help in the real nasty mud.
  14. Had mine packed full, I mean stuffed, with as many of my possestions as I could get in there when I moved from CO to NC three years ago. Has done log skid duty many times when the pickup couldn't get any traction(2wd trucks suck!!) Played tow truck on a few occations, including pulling a 77 ford fullsize pickup out of a ditch the sube easily crossed, a full sized blazer from the same ditch, and a s-10 also from the same hole. Its run through 2 foot of snow on worn, mismatched tires without breaking a sweat, hauled firewood, 1000lbs of sackcrete, and did rural mail delivery before I purcased the car for a couple of years. It has also put this look:eek: on many of faces running trails in Uwarrie national forest, and at the local mud holes as well. It may not be as pretty as it once was, but with 270,000 mi on the ticker, she still fires up without any complaints. Just need to get that clutch in the old beast so I can put it back to work.
  15. Its a sticker that say "Got Snow" I need one of those. Folks don't know what real snow is in these parts.
  16. You have been driving for 2 months and not had any trouble. I've been driving for 10 years, and had my first, and hopefully last, serious wreck on oct.20 this year. Got my firtst speedin ticket 2 years ago, and have got a a couple of tickets from that wreck, one of which is a failing to use a saetbelt, though you could see where it broke in the car and can still see where it caught my left arm as I proceeded to hit the windsheild. There is always going to be folks who don't pay attention on the road. I see it everyday. People are too distracted with talking on cellphones, eating, yelling at the kids in the back saet, shaving, reading the newspaper, eating a bowl of cereal putting on makeup, sometimes all at the same time, while going down the road that its scary!! 8 years ago I had an 86 Brat that got rearended by a girl who wans't watching the road. Straight stretch of road, clear day. I was stoped because of a heard of elk in the road(back when I was still living in Colorado) Drive deffensivly, pay attention to whats going on around you on the road. Nothing wrong with having a little fun, just be safe. And use your seatbelts. Windsheilds hurt.
  17. My manual belts lock up with a good tug. And make sure they are in good working and physical condition!!! Was having problems in my honda with the buckles. When I wrecked, came unhooked and into the windshield I went.
  18. OK motor is coming out. Need to get a couple of bubbies over to help with lifting duties. Maybe I might find a hoist.
  19. Car: 91 Loyale 4wd Question: Time to replace the clutch in this thing. Need to know, will it be easier to drop the tranny, or pull the motor to get to everything? The work is going to be done in my open air garage, complete with gravel floor, and all the ellements. I don't have a engine hoist, but i have a decent sized floor jack, and should have all the hand tools that I'll need. Any helpfull hints on this job to eleminate any unneeded headaches? Never done a clutch replacment in a Subaru, and have more or less been a extra set of hands helping a few others on clutch jobs on their trucks. Thanks
  20. You can send that copper to me!! Down here, crackheads take gutters off houses, and they will take anything, and I mean anythinthat could be recycled for cash. They'll even cut catalytic converters out of cars with battery powered sawsawz!! When are they going to have open season on these thieves?
  21. Mudding for a cause!! Thats awesome! You get a bananna
