  1. For that ignition wire u had a few wires hooked up so when you would stop cranking, the key moudle would pull the ignition ecu from the ecu right? Causing the car to run only with the key turned to the start position?
  2. No i do not! haha I am going by what I have researched for the last few years. There are still a few unknowns but yes I am pretty familiar with it it all. The RX Dual speed box though I am still looking through threads like this to see if it can be strengthened cheaply. My ultimate goal would be for sti power with high and low and dead reliable. But I need that secret recipe above. HOW MUCH GUYS!?
  3. I've heard the other way around its a full lock vs VLSD that do not last long. Ive read that after a full hard and powerful launches the diff pretty much turns into an open diff. Making 1 tire fires up front and losing a lot of overall torque to that wheel. I am going to put at least 250WHP down so because of that I heard it just weakens the VLSD buy a bunch. The main point of building those two transmissions together is to get rid of the need for an adapter plate for my swap. That saves me 200 dollars and I already have wrx clutches laying around so again another 260 saved. I already have both transmissions so I am going to build that for free. In the end you are right about the 500 to 600 dollar 5MT DCCD assemblies though I will swap to that once I break everything. Also like the original post I would like to install better gears into the built tranny and this is a good way to get some experience under my belt. Play with what I already have with my Subaru technician buddy. I also eventually what a 4.44 final drive ratio so I can get this thing moving properly. But I am going to just get rid of the RX dual range tranny all together because I know its not good for over 200 hp. I will use a 4.44 forester transmission with an aftermarket Front LSD and some type of Center diff lock. to keep all four wheels truly spinning so i can get this thing to really eat in the corners.
  4. Also the axles are pressed into the fonts if everything came loose it could of ruined the fit and they are no longer able to be pressed in to keep everything from fitting together nicely. If i were you i would just source the parts to 5x100 swap its a much better design. Axles bolt right in and there is no way to strip the hub with the newer hubs.
  5. The fronts are very easy to modify though all you need is Xt6 control arms or modify your control arms to fit a bigger impreza ball joint, 5x100 hubs, impreza axles and impreza stuts and it bolts right up just by enlarging the holes in the strut towers and the actual cross member. With this option you are free to upgrade to larger calipers in the front off any 5x100 as long as you use the right rotors as well. The backs are a pain because the only way to do it properly is to use XT6 hubs which cost a lot of money and are hard to find.
  6. I still have my RX wheels for sale if anyone is interested.

LET IT EAT! haha yes I say that all the time lol and yea exactly I am leaving my ea82 its current disregarded, poorly maintained state until it breaks. Once t does I am swapping everything hard and letting my ej205 eat haha I will post a picture tomorrow. Also yea tuning is always everything you are doing a better job than I would. i still have a lot to learn in that aspect. Also yea as long as she doesn't overheat let her eat its that simple.
  8. I am going to swap the locking center diff onto a legacy tranny for my ej20 swap instead of using a adapter plate. Poor mans DCCD thats the only trick I know when it comes to these transmissions.

Yea I can make anything fit with my plasma cutter I was just using a turbo rad as an example cause that matches the engine thats going in. But yes I will look into those.I already made the impreza top hat fit. I just have to get a camber plate that is similar to what you said. I am using 2002 WRX Hubs. 2002 WRX Ball joints EA82 powered rack with matching inner tie rods. 2002 Impreza outer tie rods, 2004 2 pot forester calipers and rotors. Impreza top hats but trying to pick a strut because my spring compressor wasn't intense enough to compress SVX springs lol I extended the mount about 1 inch outward for the XT6 control arm to fit into it still doing some final adjustments. This was harder than i thought, I used the washer method and a whole lot of fat welds. Back to your post. My stock motor is 115hp on 10 pounds of boost. So you are doing well is what I meant. I still believe with all the work you have done you can crack 200 hp. I am just worried about reliability. Have you thought about meth injection for safety and keeping things cool. Who is doing your tuning and I am sure you could get more horsepower out of it with the help of that. Also did you ever O rind the deck or anything like that? Your engine is running pretty hott also what is the CFM for the fans you are running I really enjoy this freaking build man. I love when people work with what they have.

What are you running for front suspension I just ran into issues last night trying to put SVX stuts with impreza top hats on. I want to be able to adjust everything like you can. Also 130 hp with 6 pounds of boost that sounds nice. Cant wait to see what happened when you turn the boost up. Also what are your plans for a fan I might get a 2.0 turbo rad and try to fit that instead.
  11. I am loving the info in this thread its too bad some of the info cant be shared.

18.4 PSI! Cut that spoob out haha are you using a mechanical boost controller? Cant you just use a softer spring in your BOV or play with the waste gate vacuum lines?

    78' Brat

I know all about that rust life with these old Subaru s Good luck and sweet plan.
  14. Congratulations on making her run! Those are the simple issues =)
  15. Can not wait for pics seems like a great project definitely some high goals. But yea seems legit =) My only question is what do you mean you are going to wire the car for twin turbo as well. I am only asking because you said you took some off the deck and that would bump the compression so I got a little lost High compression, turbo and high revving sounds like a meth injection type of project. Also Titanium Retainers gotta love those!

Nice some good info here and I love the Dragon dream ride/cruise rode for both the bike and the beast.

"XP12™ has temperature range of 250°F to 1850°F" Haha I wonder how much it matters that they are not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. People run organic pads with the wrong pad material on aftermarket "drilled and slotted rotors for years. I've seen people even go until its metal on metal all the time on their daily's. Obviously these during a cold winter morning would not be good until a few heat cycles. Deff a cool pad choice, and yea that is tough choice for the rear I am running hydro and have friends to pass me for inspection. Also yea one day I used the digital torque wrench and i was surprised how little they needed.

Yea It is an interesting fix for sure.I believe it keeps suspension geometry completely stock too so that is what I am gonna do. I finally got my WRX wheels too <3 https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/wheel-studs/arp-100-7716-arp-extended-wheel-studs-5-pack Spacers and extended wheel studs are fine though. I want some of these just for the strength because last year due to corrosion and slight over tightening I was able to snap multiple studs in a corolla. Are you going to do any brake upgrades to actually be able to use all the tire beneath you.?

    My RX v2

i love the update nice wheels and btw simple fix for the rear flip the turn the trailing arm onto the other side. Still will make a thread for it so I can show you exactly what I mean. God I cant wait to put these wheels on my RX. They look great seriously. Did you get an alignment I don't understand? Also I am loving the new shiny stuff =)
  20. Also I dont think it is possible to use the orginal postion when I measured everything up it was like 7 inches longer than my ea82.
  21. Either four port or 2 port works well http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/157224-i-just-upgraded-my-master-cylinderheres-what-i-found/ Check this thread out I did something similar. Has anyone ever used SVX booster I might swap one of them I have into the car to get more power, because eventually I will be using four pot front calipers.
  22. http://www.ebay.com/itm/96-97-98-99-SUBARU-LEGACY-OUTBACK-FORESTER-5-SPEED-MANUAL-TRANSMISSION-4-44-EJ25-/191803044026?hash=item2ca85a30ba:g:QPQAAOSw~OVWuonR&vxp=mtr JDM Forestor 5 speed good deal prob a very easy swap also I plan on doing this one day.
  23. God I cant wait to rally my car! I love all pictures like this and +1 at the five lug swap.
  24. I really love the idea of that Interface Board making those CELS go away. Maybe ill use it on my 02 WRX Swap. I wanna get all the PDFS has anyone tried Subaru technical information for the PDFS I have used it on all my other cars. https://techinfo.subaru.com/account/login.html That could deff help you if you are missing any infortmation at all you buy a days access and then save anything you need in PDF format. jreadTake a look at that.
