I adjusted the TPS and it's better. The car is running the way it was before he started changing parts. It sometimes stumbles off idle and feels like it's skipping and set the CEL. P1507. I've read about the nuteral safety switch but this has an auto and they have sticks?

I just got off the phone with the owner and he said he put a TPS on. I will check the adjustment tomorrow. Thanks, Ryan.

Hi all, I've got a 01 outback 2.5. It seems to cut out but not stalling when it should be shifting. Buzzing sound at trans w/ koeo, it stops just as I open the throttle than will start past there. Found trans code 31. TPS tests good. Ground and 5v there. Now what? Thanks in advance, Ryan

Yes I noticed the bolt pattern is different. I found one just waiting for them to let me know if it's with or without EGR. If not I will check the junkyard next week. Thanks again, Ryan

Thanks. The 2.2 was from a 98 Impreza and the ECU came from that car. That is what he said anyway. No the 2.2 does not have an EGR I still have the intake and harness from the 2.5 with an EGR. I will check into the work around. Thanks again, Ryan

Hi All, I have a 98 Legacy Outback Wagon. Swapped out 2.5 for a 2.2. Got the ECM w/ 2.2. It wouldn't start until I put the original 2.5 ECM back in and it runs great. So far the only problem is an EGR code because the 2.2 has no EGR. I'll worry about that later. Any thoughts on the ECM no start issue? Thanks in advance, Ryan

Have spark and fuel. I also sprayed carb clean in throttle body.

Hello, This is my first Subaru and I got it with no engine. 1998 Legacy Wagon 2.5, stick. Put a used 98 2.2 it came w/ ecm. I tried to start it and it cranks but won't fire. The tubes from the valve covers are not hooked to anything. I don't see where they go. also a tube from the upper back of the plastic intake just before the throttle body is not hooked up. I'm guessing they need to hook together. But not sure. My question is do they need to be hooked up to run? I worked on an older Probe one time and that caused it to not start. Thanks in advance, Ryan
