  1. Ohhh I didn't realize that the 2004 already had the sensor. Bratman your link doesn't work
  2. Weird. I think I'll probably just get some shielded wire then! Thats $120 big ones for a seemingly small bit of hassle. My only question now is where am I getting speed signal from since the trans doesn't have it and neither do the ABS sensors?
  3. No way to do it with parts from the old trans? $200 USD is steep for a speedo! Although that Dakota unit is way cheaper!
  4. Want to buy a legacy next week but it has an issue with the speedo. The Po put in a 2007 transmission to replace a 2004 with a shot bearing and now the speedo doesn't work. It's my understanding that the 2007 uses a speed sensor in the abs where the 2004 uses one in transmission. How do I get the speedo to work? Can I install the VSS from the 04 trans on 07 or can I throw and abs speed sensor and hook it to my 04 ecu?
  5. Hate to bring up an old thread but trying to find a oil pressure sender I can use in an EA to EJ swap. Looking for a pressure sender and not just a dummy light.
  6. Wow feeling like a spud. Ripped everything apart. Lit some spoob on fire then realised I have my fusible link box grounded and wiring diagram says it should connect to positive terminal. Weird since it has a ring terminal on it.
  7. Ok so problem is with that wire. Made a solid connection and it still tried to light on fire. I have a wiring diagram but it doesn't tell me where in the alt the wires should be going. I'm pretty sure I'm correct but the white wire should be going to the post correct? Then the black and white to the connector? My colours don't match all the way since it's a swap. Can someone just let me know which colour wires go where on the alt?
  8. Or the wire in the box was broken making sparks in the connection. I'm assuming this cause the fusible link didn't blow.
  9. There's a short somewhere I believe. The power wire attached to the black fusible link just lit on fire and burnt the connector off when I moved the box.
  10. Also nothing happens at accessory but I assume that's due to nothing that goes on at accessory working....
  11. I must have forgot something. I just used a thinner harness. No radio no headlights no interior illumination. I remember my friend having an issue with his illumination in his car after wiring a radio can't remember the solution. I've found out indicators work, parking lights work, engines good. Still no idea what the issue is. I've torn the dash up again and can't see anything unplugged. There is a plug that looks like it could have a relay on it but I'm 90% sure it never had one and has no power runing to it anyways.
  12. So I've swapped my EJ into a second car now and after being successful the first time I ran into new problems this time. Currently can't get my headlights or radio to go on. Its a 1987 GL with a 1998 2.5l in it. Engines running fine but some of the car features aren't working. Pretty sure I just missed a wire somewhere and don't know which one. Justin
  13. Does anyone have pictures of this swap. Or the parts necessary to fill and bleed. Have the radiator but a little unsure where to go now figuring out how to fill it!
  14. So after doing a head gasket job I'm about to put my timing belt back on and realize that all the marks are gone! Does anyone have the number of teeth between the lines so I can mark it back up? I can faintly see some of the markings that indicate rotation direction but no lines are left. Not sure why this happened as its only like 3k old... Its from a 1998 Subaru Legacy ej25d
  15. The lines are like 6 months old. I really doubt its the lines. Will check the slides tomorrow.
