spent the last of my extra money this month and my meter died so i got a single element bulb and socket from my junk box. put an alligator clip on the black ground wire and used the other wire for the positive probe works good and is nice and bright.

i hear about connecting the test connectors to find out about the check engine lights but i haven't found any where written or otherwise where they are my lights are not lighting up yet but neither is my dash lights. so is the little light on the computer supposed to come on all the time or just when i connect the leads, like a proof light to tell if it is working. i have no owners manual only a chiltens witch is not worth the match to light it on fire all it says is to connect them. where the heck are they?

i have checked all my fusable links they are fine. i don't have a wiring diagram, what does each link protect i also do not have an owners manual as that would probably have the information too

stupid me tried to tow my subi without the front shafts i had just replaced the ball joints and tierod ends for the lady and put new pads on the brakes.then her boyfriend decided to work on it and lost the drive lines. it ran great when i left it but when i went to tow it the brakes where locking up turning red hot, breaking the brake line,by the way brake fluid is flammable, thank God for mud puddles,i am planning on replacing all the front brake parts, should i replace the wheel bearings also?

took fuel pump off to check to see if it worked.broke all three mounting screws, damn, fuel pump works if you apply power directly, traced it back to fuse box, with the key on no power to the fuel pump fuse. does it get its power from the ing switch or does it go through the relay first or is there a oil pressure switch first. my car is an 88 wagon dl.

yea that sounds good

boy do i feel stupid tried to start my wagon and nothing happened, looked all over for about three hours, wiggled wires, took cover off the steering wheel ,took inner fender well off, traced wires with ohm meter, scratched my head, cussed out subaru, then got a little voice in my head k.i.s.s.,rechecked everything found out the ground cable was tucked in the coolant lines on top of the starter but not attached to the engine(DUH) aleway remember 90 % of electrical problems are bad ground. i think i will change the battery cables, they have temperary teminals on the ends right now.

i am sure there is a place somewhere on these forums to decode my vin no. but i haven't found it yet and not sure how to search.
