i have a 2006 impreza and when i set the cruise control i works fine until i head downhill it then picks up speed about thirty miles per hour until i step on the brakes to prevent going too fast. is this normal? should i be worried? you would think there would be engine braking. it is an automatic with 170,000 on it.

my 1988 gl wagon had a bad gas milage problem which is one of the reasons the p.o. got ride of the car. i changed the filters and the hoses and it still sucked gas,it is the throttle body system so i turned the key on and heard the pump come on and smelled strong gas looked under it and saw gas shooting out so i shut the key off and climbed under to find the leak. changed the hoses that didn't help when i saw the leak it was the end of the pump at the seam. i didn't want to spend 300 bucks on an oem pump so i went to pull and save and bought two pumps for 10 bucks they are easy to change. a screwdriver and a 10 mm socket 5 minutes and it is done. now to fix the other problems which i think i just about got done.

tried towing my 1988 gl sw home with no axles in it,almost made it home until the tire and rotor fell off and the brake lines caught on fire found out you are not suppose to tow a subaru without the axles. now i am slowly rebuilding the front end one piece at a time -
i think my wheel bearings in my 2007 impreza are going bad. i can hear a growling as i drive down the road, either that or its the brakes or the wife. how do you test the brakes?

they fixed it all. boy did they have fun with the catalytic converter the put the new converter in and broke all the bolts on the heat shield, and tried to fix the rear wheel speed sensor but broke it and had to put in a new one. took them all day to fix the heat sheild and a week to fix the rear sensor, had to reorder it twice everything works fine now. free for me.now to change the timing belt,it is under warranty so if it brakes they have to give me a new motor for 100 bucks. there insurance people would have to inspect the motor first then have them install a new motor.

i just saw the price of a new fuel pump and was wondering what they were smoking. i can buy a used one from pull and save for 7.00 buck as opposed to almost 200 bucks for a new one.

got the old bearing out and am trying to find the seals but the ones the stores have don't look like the original

the ground wire was hooked up i think it was a bad relay, when it had everything loose it worked as soon as i put it up into place it stopped working and i found out my fuel pump leaks and it wasn't the lines it was the pump itself.

the square one is definatly the ign one the round is the fuel pump relay. the square one has 6 terminals four for the output and two for the input, wheras the round one has just four terminals. i have va spare ign relay from the wrecking yard and i got some life out of the ecm and heard the fuel pump kick in but smelled gas so i looked underneith and gas was pouring out of the fuel pump and it wasn't the lines, can i buy a new one like the original or do i have to go aftermarket?
