i need an exploded view of the front hub because i don't know how well the p.o. put it together last time. drinking alcohol is fine but not while working on a vehicle,after you stop for the night fine,but you mess things up while working,just a thought,and my opinion. but the way this car was put together makes you wonder,it cost more to redo it sober that do it drunk or buzzed.

when i turned my ign on in my 88dl i didn't hear anything so i starting wiggling wires around,i know that is not the scientific way to test but my cheap harbor freight meters read 12v without being hooked up to anything so i made a test light and i think the ign switch is bad,any way i got a new used ign switch and a ign relay and all the fusable links as well,i also got the resistors for the a/c blower fan i only had to fix one wire i will try it out tomarrow when i get time. i also got the metal bracket for the radio boy was that a pain. i am going to try to find a wiring diagram of the ign because haynes doesn't have one,i also got a coil and amp the other day,all the distributors were taken.once i get the car running then i can work on the front end like axles,brakes,hoses,and rotors and bearings,yeah.

i figured out what it was,while i was at pull and save the other day i saw the plug and what was plugged into it it was the intermittant wiper relay control ahah

i will and i will figure out the wires going to it and backtrack it using a wiring diagram.

i have checked the power wires coming into the ecu,they have power just no output i also have no little light lighting up on the ecu. could a bad ign relay have something to do with it not working,it doesn't work either and i bypassed it and still no luck the wiring is good just components are bad. i tried to get the ign relay at the stealership and the lady behind the counter didn't know what i was talking about, the closes she came was 5 different relays starting at 150 to 300 bucks i said no thanks i will find one somewhere else. all the wrecking yards around here are missing this relay.

thats what i needed to know. is it an mt5 or at6 or what? when i go to order parts they want to know besides a 5 spd push button 4wd.

thanks that clears it up when i removed the rotor assembly i saw the seal and figured i should change them.

i have an 88 dl wagon and the plastic cover on the rear bumper is messed up a bit. can just the cover be replaced or do i have to change the whole bumper?

my 88 dl wagon has a 5 spd manual with a push button 4wd what tranny do i have?

i have an 88 dl wagon and i have to change the brake rotor,now that it is off there is a seal on the spindle that needs to be changed.what is this seal called and is there another seal in there on the rotor holder?

yea it was the motor,went to pull and save and got a new to me motor and a new to me switch plugged it in and it works. while i was there pulling parts i snagged the rear latch assembly now i don't have to use a bungy cord anymore. now i just meed a new rear bumper the old one got pushed in when it was bumped. the one thing i noticed on the parts car was a black box in the back hatch what was this for? -
i have an 88 dl wagon and was messing around with the radio the other day trying to figure out the buttons,someone thought it would be cute to take all the info off the buttons,finally got those figured out with the help of google and notice back behind the radio is another bracket that is suppose to hold the back of the radio up,well mine has been butchered and parts of the are missing can that metal bracket be replaced or is it all part of the dash?

the problem with teflon is when you heat it up it evaporates like in the pots and pans it will make you sick and once you overheat the they are nothing but dog food bowles and they make your food taste funny when you get them to hot, and engines get hot.

that makes more sense. i will get a white magic marker and put a no. 1 top left and an arrow pointing down because i will not remember that tip, i also mark my plug wure on top of the cap and at the plug end and on top of the dist cap and write the firing order on the radiator support and oil cap. on the inside of the hood,and the belt no., that may be overkill but i don't drive the car often enough to memerize this info.

i have an 88 dl wagon and to the right of the steering colum is a big green plug with a jumper in it,what is it i would get you a pic but i have no camera maybe on the wifes cell phone if i could figure out how to download to my computor.

i have an 88 dl wagon without lsd is it difficult to put in or do i have to replace the whole diff. p.s. it has the push button 4wd also. how do you check for limited slip differential, the car doesn't run yet but i am getting close just need that darn ecu, and ign relay.

it says in the repair instuctions to check fuse say 25 how do you number them?

i have an 88 dl wagon with spfi how difficult is it to change to mpfi ? i have looked and must be doing somthing wrong because i can't find anything i am sure i would have to change the ecu and maybe the intake also,are the injectors in the head or in the intake the car doesn't run now so it is no problem to swap. it is going to be my winter car because my pickup has no traction in the ice and snow.
