  2. do you need the part cut out or are you going to start fresh and weld in new sheet metal? i don't know if my parts car has any bubbles, gotta still move the plastic and fender out of the way to see...
  3. thanks for clearing that up where those go exactly
  4. its just a stupid light, why does it have to be this rare/hard to find, the car isn't even that old... guess im on my own on this one.
  5. i work all day today, tomorrow also, monday im free, i will look then and probably cut the section out, sorry about the long wait.
  6. ill help you out, ill ask my friend if i could borrow his grinder, where do you need it cut off? i know its sort of hard to explain on a 3dimentional part.. and as long as you pay for the shipping and don't mind the blue this could work out..
  7. all the gaskets that have been blue are for water purposes so far in the kit, so i doubt it but i woun't know till i remove the oil pick up tube..
  8. that is disapointing to find, while you wait for a replacement, spray paint the spot so it doesn't keep growing? thats the problem with mudflaps and chrome wheel well trims, they look great, but do have their consequences. Salt and whatever else you want to imagine gets trapped in there and eventually starts rusting. i do have a blue parts car thats completely rust free but don't have a cutter/grinder/welder. wish you were closer, you could have the part for free but its not really a removable part
  9. thanks for sharing that Jeszek, will definetly save that as Subaru has probably already deleted these from their computer files as obsolete. so whatever remains out there in hardcopy service books or saved images like you have done, is all we have left, thank you.
  10. who knows, but as long as those don't apply to my engine, then im golden. thanks for the help Dave and Emily.
  11. yes its the Fel Pro box kit. its just that on the top of the box (not seen in the picture) it says for EA82 SPFI 1985-1994 Only. so thats why i was alittle confused about those that remained. wonder if the MPFI Only box comes with extra seals that are for SPFI
  12. alternator and digital voltage does just fine with everything on at the same time, although ill be honest, lights are more for decoration and looks than anything else, i rarely go to the hill country in the impreza, i leave that reserved for the 89 GL. i posted a picture of how the car looks in the day time incase you're wondering, and ofcourse with the glass still intact on the drivers side foglight, and another picture of a close up of the passenger foglight (need drivers side). help or thoughts from anyone else is highly appreciated.. thanks!
  13. thanks for clearing that up, the only screw up was the oil pan, gotta remove it and put some RTV on it again, besides that and the EGR, i guess the rest doesn't apply to me? including those 4 thick O rings since mines Single Point?
  14. well, this sort of ruined my thanksgiving, heard a shatter on the highway and took a look and the extremely hard to find foglight is broken. took me 2years to find the pair and they came from separate vehicles with the opposites cracked. sooo does anybody know where to find a drivers side? i really don't feel like waiting another 2 years or more for another at the junkyard, i've searched alittle online but im not sure if there just not out there or im not searching for the right thing. thanks!!! i appreciate it. -Omar
  15. For an EA-82, Non-Turbo SPFI. im pretty sure the top right one thats cardboard color is the EGR valve one, but i can't figure out what the 4 thick O rings go or that tiny O ring next to the 4 on the top left. theres also 2 blue ones which i assume something with water but can't figure it out, and the 2 on the bottom of the picture that are in pairs, im assuming intake but where? theres also a word bank that the package came with that i have provided, hopefully that helps also. and a picture of where im at currently, hopefully its not too late, i just closed up the valve covers, decided to ask here before i went any further with the rebuild. thanks for any info! Thanks again for your help! -Omar.
  16. i made a post on the craigslist for sale items yesterday, he claims hes the original owner so there woudn't be others that have owned it before. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/156611-1985-wagon-800/ and the link itself which two85s has already provided for us.
  17. EA82 wheels don't fit on the rear of an EA71, mine rubbed on that "arm" that holds the hub in place. too wide. just wanted to throw that out there, now im not sure if you meant EA81 or EA82, never owned an EA81 so don't know too much about them..
  18. still no turbo in them? gosh, they're acting like apple now, only add one thing to every version, i bet they have a turbo chaged ultimate brz somewhere and every year someone says only add this one thing for this year, and then they wonder why sales aren't as much as they expected...
  19. i've always done what you're thinking, 10W-40 between march-november and november-march i go with 10W-30, now does it actually do anything or help i don't know but thats what i've been doing for the past 3 years, before that it was always 10W-40 all year round. -my winters are around 31 degrees at their lowest point and the hottest point in summer is around 115degrees F. btw i just changed to 10W-30 yesterday on one of my Subies to get ready for "winter" if thats what you want to call it here in Texas.
  20. thats painful to look at the brat all smashed up like that... especially with so few numbers that remain.
  21. another subi soul gone. im really glad your okay, that crash looks insane, i didn't even think a Subaru could ever look like that. that rear bumper is tough but in those photos it looks like it was made out of paper. and yes its totaled, i got hit a month ago in my 89 Wagon and it did not look anything like this, yet they still totaled it.
  22. thank you for clearing how the tachometer works, i haven't done anything to the wagon in almost a month, been too busy. might have gotten a defective new coil but not sure yet, still need to swap that to see. ill keep an eye out for an EA-81, never knew those could work also, thanks!
  23. about the timing covers, im still wondering that myself if they even do much, and if it jumps out of time by some rock, its not like its going to bend valves anytime soon on the EA-82. i only have 1 top bolt on the left cover, 1 on the right cover, and 2 on the middle cover and i cut some of the cover with a dremel so i don't have to remove the harmonic balancer and some other stupid stuff like around the water pump and such, its been a while so i don't remember too much. but there are people that run without them and it literally takes about 15minutes to change the belts without covers. so thats why i sort of have them on.
