  1. ofcourse the yaris wasn't happy, i hate toyota, probably going to get hate for this but every toyota driver ive encountered doesn't know how to drive and is ignorant as hell, theres a couple subaru owners also but most are the newer ones and not as much!
  2. lol yeah okay so either way your screwed, i guess the best thing is to not think about a crash and enjoy life while avoiding getting in an accident
  3. i guess chances of us crashing into an equal weight vehicle is near to impossible, especially where i live.. excursions, suburbans, and f350s everywhere, so i guess nothing matters.
  4. did not know the imprezas metal underneath differed from the ea82, thanks.
  5. 13inch tires are very cheap to where i can afford the most expensive ones at discount tire ($80) each, also i went 107mph once because i was curious how high i could take my car, surprisingly my imprezas top speed is 98mph. anyways safety is somewhat a concern to me but i also dont want how a hyundai crumples at a 20mph crash and your left without a car but also not a 50s car either.
  6. its one of few kei cars that are actually street legal, never seen one before??
  7. you dont drive your brat on the freeway?!? thats the coolest part, me going down I10 doing 107mph in my wagon is seriously a cool feeling, seeing everyone else buying new cars so they can have a reliable car on the highway when they could have just boughten an awesome 80s vehicle, work on it some and take it out and show it off.also i just learned i have i think a legacy steering wheel on my impreza, it has no airbag but it is subaru. im not home currently but i was looking up images and stuff. also forgot to mention stupid me, i ment to say passenger airbag didn't come out till 1995ish, i knew driver was out in 1993, 1994 they chopped the tow hooks because of a recall of airbags going off when you bottom out. also i though some impreza models didn't come with airbags? i thought i saw one from a junkyard without one, it had manual crank windows and manual transmission ofcourse.
  8. i dont like big projects either, i try to organize where all the bolts go but once its about 30 or more i just mix them all together and just try every bolt when im putting it back together, ofcourse im always left with a bolt or two and ask myself, where does this go? oh well lol
  9. my 1993 impreza has crumple zones? and i have no driver airbag, nor passenger airbag since those didn't come out till 1995ish, idk i just feel like my wagon is tougher material metal than my impreza's metal, i push with my finger on the metal and it bends while EA82 wagon takes a hammer to the hatch, i got rear ended by a 1994mazda protege about 3weeks ago and the mazda totaled with liquids on the ground while my wagon is just a happy vehicle going down the road with a couple scratches on the bumper (first picture), also before i owned this vehicle another one crashed into it back in 1999 on the back right of it by the mudflap (second picture) scratch between the rim and back door, rim has scratches and the mudflap is wavy because of the impact, and a third back in 1995 on the hatch which is visible today. (third picture) dont know the story on the hatch though.
  10. yeah, didn't know any better back then, stubborn me always wants to do it my way and just take it all apart at the same time
  11. ive been wondering which vehicle im safer in, i feel like the bumper on my gl wagon is way more superior over my 93 impreza which has plastic everywhere, i hate plastic, and my 79DL wagons bumper is a chrome metal bumper, my gf feels safer in my 89gl but im not sure myself? would i survive but my car wouldn't in my impreza but i wouldn't survive in my gl but my car would? has anyone ever crashed their subarus? thanks for your opinions. also my 79 dl wagon doesn't have those rubber bumpers on the bumper, wish it did, their kind of cool.
  12. like your drum brake shoes on the back, screwed up bad when i took it all apart thinking, how hard can it be, i don't need no stupid pictures
  13. yay! another justy still on the road, keep it alive! your one of the few subarus that can say i don't have a boxer engine lol.
  14. yes, if your ever in the forest and you really need to go, you remove your oil filter, take it apart and use that, or just keep a bunch of fram filters in the tool compartment in the back and some sheet metal cutters and your set for your trip.
  15. pshhh, im so cheap, i think $200 is too much only because i got a whole 1990 subaru loyale wagon mid trim with power windows for $200, drove it about 180miles from where i bought it and its just sitting outside as a parts car. her name is Blue
  16. i pump shell gasoline, and once every 5pumps of fulltanks or so i put the expensive one, a full tank of it. i only pump shell and HEB fuels but HEB is only a Texas thing so most of you wouldn't know what it is.
  17. lol that made me laugh pretty hard, haven't laughed like that in a while..
  18. quite risky, if you screw up, you screw up bad unless you have a timing light, i would try other things that have no risk before you try mine.
  19. i love justy's, ive only seen one on the road ever, a red one, i like them but not to the point where ill buy one since they look so similar to the ford fiesta, wish it was a bit uniquer but still its a subaru, fix it and let us know!
  20. or that too, it could honestly be anything, check for basics like DaveT said, pressure in your fuel.
  21. and theres no way your going to test this unless you get yourself another distributor from the junkyard or atleast that rectangular sensor (about a centimeter by 2centimeters) its held by 2phillips i think.
  22. it could be that its just now failing on you, sometimes it does it sometimes it wount, once you take the rotor cap off, theres a rotor that has a side screw that holds it, and then 2 phillips i think holding a metal plate that covers the rotating disk and sensor, i pulled my distributor out to work on this better but please do research on how to reinstall your distributor, i pulled mine stupidly and it took me forever to get it back working again, all i know is to leave piston #1 at TDC (top dead center) this would be the piston closer to the passenger headlight. i can't remember the rest of the steps since its been a year, but #1 on the distributor should be the one closest pointing to the driver, but when reinserting it you want to be pointing like at the battery or coolant reservoir since you have to compensate for it turning, please look this up further in detail before you start throwing tools like i did. and make sure you own a timing light!! since this is your first vehicle, im guessing you don't have many tools.
  23. if it dies when it warms up then i think i know what it is, its your distributor, mine used to do it, it would work perfectly and awesome and 15min later it would just stall and die and never turn back on no matter what i did unless i waited 10-15min for it to cool, then it would start up like nothing happened. it drove me insane but inside your distributor theres a metal disk with alot of holes on it and a sensor that reads these holes, either your disk is dirty or the sensor (little tiny rectangle sensor) is failing when it warms up, im not talking about the rotor, more deeper is a metal disk that spins inside the distributor, thats why theres regular wires coming out of your distributor, took me a while to figure out why a distributor needed power (not the coil, just regular wires) mine failed because i washed the engine and i fried the sensor and it woukd fail on me only after driving for 15ish minutes.. if its not that, good luck. but try to put an ice pack around the distributor and see if your vehicle lasts longer with it on, thats how i found out about my problem.
